Chapt. 52 ~ Twisted Darkness

"What... What is that thing?" Kelvin stared at Mute's new taken form, ignoring the kidnapped children disappearing from their cages.

"What is all this?... Mute...?!" Ciel scanned the room before his eyes landed on the creatures. His breath came out shaky, as if Mute was going to attack him. This was the first time seeing her in this form, and he couldn't take his eyes off Mute's. He could see the pure hatred and rage in the her eyes.

They can't be forgiven. None of them.

Seeing the zombified children in cages, and replaying Ciel's memories in her head, something in Mute made her snap. It was as if she could feel what Ciel and the children had gone through. "What do you think you are doing, coming in here and taking my precious children away from me?!" Kelvin shouted in demand. "You answer me right n-" A tendril stretched out and stabbed the door behind him, nearly missing the side of his head. Kelvin's mouth dropped as those around him, besides Miko, were stunned.

"I suggest you choose your next words carefully, Baaron Kelvin, was it? I believe Earl Phantomhive had asked you a question." Miko warned, her arms folded beneath her chest and her eyes glowing an electric purple. Both Kelvin and Joker were too petrified to speak because the tendril Mute struck with was still in contact with the door. It all happened so fast. They didn't even blink, nor could Kelvin finish his sentence. "Lord Baaron Kelvin." Miko called out his name slowly, and with a dark tone as if she was losing her patience.

"The Earl Phantomhive should know what this room is... Can't he recognize it? It's almost like the ceremony...!" Kelvin trembled with his words, although he was smiling at the end of his sentence. He couldn't take his eyes off Mute's deformed state as she glared daggers at him. "The children...she's taking them away!" 

"She's rescuing them." Miko corrected. 

"You kidnapped and brainwashed these children into lifeless puppets..." Mute's voice rang with both anger and venom, making Kelvin flinch in wheelchair. "How many have you kidnapped and killed?..." 

Moments of Mute's past, from when she was human, flashed in her head. Images of herself being tortured and raped, then images of Ciel's torture flashed in her head, then the kidnapping of the other children. So many of images were going through her mind, making it hard for her to control her emotions... The emotions she thought she killed off long ago when she became the being that she is now...

He did this! 

"N-Now let me explain! This is the coordination that began 5 years ago..." Kelvin's feared expression began to change into a smile of glee as he explained himself. "I made everything as an exact copy! The ritual chamber! The lambs in their cages! And the most important part of all, you My Lord!" 

"Animal!" Mute's tendril struck Kelvin's chest at the same time Ciel had made his shot. The two gave Kelvin the same cold stare when they made their attack, as if their thoughts and emotions were in sync.  

"No, Father!" Joker ran towards Kelvin's wounded body, but Sebastian was quick to slice off Joker's hand that held the dagger.
