Seven: Anger, Doubts, Winter Wonderland
Tsukasa has been going out quite a lot. I knew it wasn't only because of work either. Some days he would tell me he was staying at Takumi's place. I would contact Takumi, and he would deny the fact. Tsukasa was lying.
My anger fumed inside me quite a lot. I started a gym membership, and began working out a lot. I wanted to do something with my life. I even got part time jobs now to make extra cash. I wanted to work in places that weren't near my brother sometimes. It made working more interesting.
Me, and Kare would still have our occasional dates, but we still remained as innocent as ever. She was the only one who really made me happy. I hardly saw Tsukasa. The only time I saw him was when I worked at Raine.
"Baby, what's wrong?" Kare touched my face.
"Nothing." I shook my head.
"Okay..." She touched her forehead. "I don't feel quite well today. I think I should head home."
"Do you need me to take you?"
"No it's okay. Sorry I couldn't stay for dinner. Tell your brother I said hi." She smiles, and gets up.
In my mind, I used to believe that she liked my brother, but she doesn't stay over the house as much anymore. She would always constantly remind me I'm her number one. At least someone is telling me that.
======
I got a call from Tsukasa. He basically told me he won't be home again. I was pretty lonely at home. I didn't know why he would suddenly abandon me. It hurts. It hurts badly. Even at age nineteen, I still felt like I need him more then ever.
Later that night, I couldn't escape this loneliness. I took the phone, and dialed Shoko's number. I didn't communicate with my little sister much, but I wanted to try.
"Hello?"
"Hey it's Seiji."
"Oh hey. How are you?" She seems tired.
"Fine. I just needed company to speak to."
"Ah no problem."
"Is it possible for you to come down here?" I asked carelessly. I knew it was hard for her to come alone. I hoped she knew to ask one of our drivers to drive her since she knew where we lived.
"I don't know if I can now. I'm sorry. Sleep well big brother." She hung up. She seemed rushed. She must of heard our parents. I'm glad she can cover for me, and Tsukasa.
I went to take a shower, and headed off into bed. There was no use in staying up, and waiting for Tsukasa.
======
I woke up to a hand on my shoulder. I opened my eyes to see Tsukasa sitting by my bedside. "Hey good morning." He smiles. "Sorry I wasn't home last night. Someone invited me out for drinks." He looks away.
"Oh Takumi?"
"Yes." He replies.
"Ah don't drink too much. You know how I hate that."
"I promise I won't. I wanted to talk to you about Kare." His face was serious.
I sat up. "What is it?"
"I don't think she is the one for you."
My blood boiled. Did he just want her for himself?
"Why do you say that?" I said calmly.
"She is just using you for the money." He frowns.
"Don't be ridiculous. I have never bought her anything besides anniversary gifts."
