Weekend passed. In tiredness and boredom.
Still there was no sign of Julia. I didn't tell her anything about this and neither to Mom. I just gave a brief story about the thief and Jason's rescuing me but not mentioned a thing about why I had been so weary and distressed over the weekend. But the real me – who was a bit crazy sometimes, naughty and always happy – did return – I was absolutely fine. What comes will come – this idiom was what I was following in my life. Giving myself a big smile in the mirror, I took the schoolbag and walked to school t again.
Halloween was coming. Apart from those leaflets last week, there were more – about Halloween parties around London and some residential areas near my college. It would be so much fun and scary as what stated on each flier. I wondered whether I should dress up as a vampire. It would be more fun, wouldn't it? I took one leaflet on the reception desk and went to class. Everyone seemed delightful because of some up-coming Halloween events.
I thought of Jason; though I didn't really like this but I could not control my mind at time. And it would be more fun if I disguised myself as what I had mentioned; I might make him misunderstand. Or not. They were just my silly thoughts.
As I guessed, Jason was already here. Nevertheless, the thing that captured completely my attention was the appearance of Paisley.
"Hi everyone, it's nice to see all of you again! Today, because Emma - your Biology teacher is not feeling well, I'm gonna take over her class. I will give you more information about the history of our world we live in! Is this alright?"
She said excitedly, then casted her eyes around and stopped at Jason. I had known it. She looked him straight in the face with a conspiratorial smile.
Needless to say, the whole class turned to him and started watching a drama. After a while, kinda having an eye competition, he did react but in an unbelievable way.
"Paisley, would you like to have a cup of tea after I drive Ally home?"
Nice drama. I told myself. Smiling inside.
"Why do you have to do that?" – asked Paisley.
"I want to and she doesn't mind!" – answered Jason.
I got a bit surprised. However, watching a disappointing face of Paisley was so funnier. I crossed my arms and leaned my back against the chair, expressing my hostility as if challenging her to win over Jason. After eyes fastening on one another, Paisley may understand that I had no fear for her as my amber eyes even turned out fiercer. She gave up and carried on her lecture. She must be so mad. I was exultant.
"Oh, I am terribly sorry; I've just realised that I'm only allowed to talk about it for only one day! Thus, I'm going to teach you the first lesson of Biology. I'm hoping everyone will enjoy!"
The rhythm of her voice changed abruptly. She was such an amazing hypocrite.
"That's not fair!" – I whispered as memory served me right, about what Jason had told me about angels who were meant to excel at Biology – the subject I was very keen on learning.
"Ally, have some respect for my lecture!" – Said a mockery voice.
I pursed my lips. She might expect that I would be angry but no, I actually found it irony as she was so childish.
45 minutes had passed in the same situation that Paisley bagged me out. She asked me whenever I fell asleep or didn't concentrate on her lesson, which I intended to do. And when such opportunities came, she uttered her disgustingly contemptuous voice to degrade me in front of my classmates. Since it was my fault, I couldn't reason. So understandably, all I waited for was the lovely bell. It could bring happiness and relief to me.
