Saved from evil (a Merlin fan fiction)

Chapter 1:Destiny

"You mustn't tell Morgana about your gift, Merlin," Gaius said sternly.
"I know Gaius, but she has nobody ,she's all alone, I know how she feels and I can help her."
"You must promise me merlin" Gaius replied.
"I had you though Gaius to help with my magic. She needs me!" Merlin said as he stormed into his bedroom, firmly shutting the door behind him.

All night he tossed and turned trying to find a way to help Morgana without revealing that he had magic.He picked up the large spell book Gaius had given him when he first arrived and began to flick through the pages, desperately looking for a spell to help her.
He didn't know why he was going through so much trouble for her. Maybe it was her smile... His eyelids felt heavy and started drooping...Before he knew it he was fast asleep.

"Ahh!" He screamed as he realised he had fallen asleep and now it was very late night. He immediately quietened down as he realised Gaius was still asleep.He resumed flicking through the book until he came across an ageing spell.He examined it closely, " this could work," he thought to himself. He could use the ageing spell and Morgana wouldn't recognise him and then, he could teach her everything he knew about magic.

He wasn't sure about what to do so he proceeded to see the dragon. He distracted the guards again and went to see the dragon.When he got there the dragon was already there, waiting for him.
"I know what you're going to ask me," the dragon said in a wise voice.
"Well, should I?" Merlin asked.
"It is your destiny to do this, you must do it or there will be terrible consequences and the lady Morgana's heart may blacken," said the dragon gravely .Then he just flew off laughing in a peculiar way. Merlin rushed back to his room quietly.

"Wake up!" Gaius yelled as he banged on the wooden door of Merlins bedroom
"Arthur needs you, you've been asleep for hours!"
Slowly, Merlin got out of bed almost forgetting what had been on his mind. What was it?
"Morgana!" He said out loud as he remembered what he needed to do  again.
"Morgana?" Gaius said puzzled "what about Morgana?" " I told you Merlin you can't tell Morgana about your magic.
"I'm not going to," Merlin said cleverly "well at least it won't look like me,"
Gaius looked extremely puzzled.
"I found an ageing spell in the magic book." Merlin said "she won't even know it's me, please Gaius I have to do this."
"You think you can manage this spell?" Gaius asked cautiously
"I know I can, I have to," said Merlin
"Fine, but be careful and show me you can do the spell," said Gaius
"I will be careful and when I learn the spell I promise I'll show you," said Merlin

Merlin quickly went back to his room opening the big magic book. Suddenly, there was a loud knock on the door.
"Come in,"said Gaius
"It happened again!"said Morgana sobbing.
"Oh, heavens,said Gaius, just stay in your chambers, nobody can know about this." Said Gaius nervously.
"Of course,"said Morgana sounding empty.Morgana ran back to her chambers quietly crying.
"Poor girl," Gaius thought to himself " I guess Merlin was right."

Merlin quickly walked to Morgana's chambers.He knocked on the door of her room. "Who is it?"She said quietly.
"It's me Merlin,"he said.
"Come in,"she whispered
"Morgana, I know someone that can help you with your..." Said Merlin softly
"Merlin , really?'"she said surprised
"Yes,"said Merlin with a warm smile "I'll get him to come as soon as possible,"
"Thank you Merlin, I will be forever in your debt,"She said a small smile spreading across her face.

Merlin studied the spell and kept repeating it getting frustrated. Until he felt a strange growing feeling.
"Aaah!" Said Merlin shuddering as he looked in the mirror. "Is that really what I'll look like when I'm older?"thought Merlin to himself.Quickly he ran up to Gaius ,not very easily as he was old now. "Merlin?!"Gaius said gasping.
"Do you like it?"Merlin said in a croaky voice.
"Yes she'll never recognise you, but go now," Gaius said.
Without even needing to reply, Merlin headed to her chambers again.
