(Vic's POV)

I walked over to the bed and only listened to the voices in the walls. I'm here...breath in, breath out.

"Okay, damn..." someone was yelling in the hallway, and my breathing hitched when I heard the doorknob start turning. The door then flung open and I jumped on my bed. I would assume that the person at the door was my roommate. Of course I was bound to have a roommate, the bed next to me was done, but there was tracks left that showing that someone would sleep next to me.

There were clothes peeking out of the drawers, some things on the wall as well. Maybe I was quick to notice some things, but when I dozed off, I forgot my surroundings. Now I was in a moment, where I felt panicked.

"Okay dude, I'll pay up at the meeting, just hold on okay I'll have to-" the person then cut themselves off when he looked at me in the eyes. I felt like he had just seen a puppy in the middle of the plain empty bed I was on.

"Uh, um hey," he greeted me with a small awkward smile.

"Ah! I heard someone yell down the hallway, it was the weirdest conversation I had ever heard. Another person stumbled along the door.

"Hey! You got a new roommate!' The person yelled.

"Yeah, I noticed," both of them had wide smiled now, so I was obligated to smile back. They both walked over to the bed opposite of me and sat down, still looking at me.

"What's your name?" one of the two asked.

"I'm Vic. Vic Fuentes," I answered.

"Cool, my name is Alan Ashby," the guy said cheerfully. I took a moment to analyze his characteristics. He was broad, and had ginger hair. His smile was warm...and a tad bit goofy.

"I'm Joshua James Alphonse Franceschi. But please Josh for short." the guy next to him said the long name. I couldn't help but chuckle. I tucked my knees to my chest, laying my head on my knees.

"That's a long name," I was really shy at this point.

"You're new, and this is you're roommate," Josh pointed to Alan.

"We're going to have so much fun," Alan then spoke in a girly voice.

"You know, I don't think any of us thought this was fun when we first started," Josh remarked.

"Yah...but, I'm his roommate, and cause I know where rehab leads us all to, I know things will be cool." He held a thumbs up to me, and I smiled.

"Are you going to tomorrow's meeting?" Josh asked.

"Yes, I'm sure I will," I answered.

"Cool, who's your sponsor?" Alan asked.

"Um...what do you mean?" I was now confused.

"Well Hannah was supposed to tell you who your 'partner' was," Josh answered.

"Oh! Um...she said, um...Trenton Woodley," I replied.

"Fuck," they both said in unison.

"What?" I asked, feeling nervous again.

"Well...he's been around for quite a while, and well...we haven't seen him sponsor, last time he did...someone said he was a bit hardcore emotional; to many feels to handle. But hey Vic, no worries! They were just rumors," Alan tried to brush off. I only nodded and closed my eyes.

"So, how was life outside before you got in here?" Josh then asked.

"Well...I had everything," I started, but Alan threw in a comment.

"Everything was," we all couldn't hold back a little laugh.

"So yah, it was all good. My boyfriend-" Josh then cut me off.

"You're gay?"

"You a homophobe?" I asked back.

"Nope, all's well!" He said putting his hands up in defense.

"Sorry I didn't mean to be defensive or offensive...but I'm literally on edge right now," my voice was a bit shaky.

"Just talk mate, no worries...we know what that's like. Let it go," Josh said with a smile.

"I came over to this city, actually a group of all of us, came to this city; also my boyfriend. I had originally convinced him to run away with me, because he had a really, really, really abusive mom. But, I guess once I got here, all of us were consumed with our jobs, we were just trying to aspire to something more. One day Kellin, my boyfriend, got a job...and he started going out with this guy. Just casual outings, I guess. And with my whole addiction, I didn't know how to handle emotions, I didn't know how to react, I had forgotten how to love and care for the only person who I loved. And I ended up hurting him..." I stopped to breath. I couldn't look up and felt shameful, by the second I felt myself caving in.

"It's really hard," Josh started talking, but paused to get me to look at him, and so I did...slowly. "It's hard to loose people you care for. In the end, you realize tat you could be the one to blame. But you're not alone, humans make mistakes, and it's up to you if you want help and go along every step of the way, and someday...you'll be with the people you care for. That's what we all want, and that's why we're here." He finished talking, and there was a pause, filled with silence.

"We're gonna be real good friends," Alan then said throwing up his hands.

"I don't guarantee that," Josh then joked.

"Why?" I asked interested, and I smiled. In a way, I felt safe...safe to let out my emotions and be real, and that made me happy, so I smiled.

"Alan is a gambler, and he will take away all your snacks," Josh pouted, and Alan just punched him lightly.

"That's okay," I said. "I seem to have an ace up my sleeve."
