As if no hope or faith remains inside,
Yet your silent plea in me does hide.
A lifetime seems to pass through wakeful nights,
As if no hope or faith still lights.
How can I part, when she dwells within me so,
When passing by avoiding her, this feeling grows—
That secret gaze, as if she watches unseen,
A silent watcher behind the screen.
The paths move on but my feet feel bound,
Frozen in winter's quiet surround.
Life remains, yet breath seems still, profound.
Time holds gentle tricks and healing balm,
What can I do when your sorrow's calm
Breathes in my heart as a quiet psalm?
Every breath I take is inscribed in your name,
As if your silent sorrows lay there the same.
Whom shall I anger, or who may I blame?
Both reflections mine, none to claim.
Your gaze seems to ask a question untold,
In the night that passes without dawn's hold.
The body, the soul, lost without sign,
Life races on like a swift, sharp line.
How can I part, when she's a part of me deep?
Avoiding her steps, I feel her keep
Watching me still, in silence him weeps.
