Selene shut the window and headed towards the room where she got the pen and paper. She put the paper back and started pulling the drawer open when she flinched. Staggering back, she looked over her shoulder.

"You disappoint me, Selenetta. You really disappoint me. I bought it, I really did." Alex dangles the bird in his hands before tossing it at her. "I forgot about your cleverness. Even an animal still thinks." He watches her flinch again. He's not doing much. Clearly, all she learned was to behave and become sneaky.

Selene sighed, reaching into the drawer until her fingers find the edge of the knife he'd messed with the first time she woke up. She's surprised it's here. "You're a mortal. Even if I die, you won't flee fast enough." The pain she feels brings her to her knees, and she laughs. "Awe, having to rely on petty tricks because you're inferior?" She smirks through the pain. If she's going to breathe her final breath, she might as well do so struggling.

The attitude comes from nowhere; the confidence from a place she can't figure out. There's a sizzle in her blood, a pulsing in her chest and a throbbing in her head. Something is threatening to slip from its well-contained cage.

Alex scoffs as he grabs her hair in a tight fist. He glances back towards the chains he'd kept her in and the drawer with his knife. Instead of forcing her back into the chains, he takes her hands and stabs them through with his blade. He watches her expression twist as her jaw clenches. "Don't care for iron, do you, Doll?"

"Rot in hell." Selene knows her companions would be here soon. That bird had Vincent's rose on it. They were looking for her.

Alexander held her wrists in his as he scanned her face furiously, as if he'd find a bit of affection in her eyes. "Damn it! Why him? He's a no-good rotten prince! The other is some nobody! You hate them! You have always wanted the royals punished for what they let happen." Alex takes the knife from her palms just to stab it right back through. He grabs her hair again and drags her towards the chains. He binds her there, then shoves her onto her back.

"Are you so insecure as to think I favor him?" It's not Vincent she thinks of when she wants a hug. It's not Vincent she'd like to spend another day with.

"Even worse, a traitor to your kind, a fucking freak of nature who killed his own people? The captain?" Alexander laughs, shaking his head, mocking her. His pupils, however, dilate as he stares her down.

Selene opens her mouth to rebuke that, but... the words refuse to slip from her mouth. "I... That's... Dorian..." Oh... on the gods, really? Dorian would be disgusted to think that she, a criminal with blood on her hands, might love him.

Alex snarled at the fondness in her tone. He hates it. His doll shouldn't be choked up about that creature. She should love him! Selene should adore him that way! "You're mine though! I cleaned your wounds and kept them from being painful! I helped you with the poison! We relied on each other to live! You can't leave me! You can't leave me; I won't let you." He takes her hair and shakes her head. "You're mine! Mine, damn it! I'm the one who knows who requested your death! I'm the one who knows who you are! They'd kill you the way the king had your family massacred!" The words he spews are not memories she's recovered yet...

Despite trying to focus on what he might know and be able to tell her, she couldn't focus.

Selene lost count of how many times her head hit the cement beneath them. She was dizzy and unable to truly focus. However, some of his rambling catches her attention. "You know the details of my memories? Passed the things I told you I remember?"

Alex nods as he stops being too rough with her. "I collected a lot of information trying to find you. I needed my doll back."

Selene grits her teeth. "You're just trying to win me over."
