The clock ticked toward three in the afternoon, and the girls were finally finished with their chores. Their eyes sparkled with the excitement of going out for the FIRST time in a week. Naina adjusted her hair, Geetanjali fixed her hoodie strings, both ready to bolt out the door to the small park where Taehyung and Jungkook had waited so patiently for days.
But just as they were about to step into freedom—
Mr. Min's voice echoed from down the hall.
"Girls. Study room. Now."
Both sisters froze.
"...why? Like why now?" Geetanjali whispered through clenched teeth.
Naina sighed dramatically. "Because he's allergic to our happiness."
Dragging their reluctantly excited feet, they walked into the study. Mr. Min sat behind his desk, perfectly calm, perfectly cold, as always.
He lifted his eyes. "Sit."
The girls sank into the chairs like prisoners awaiting sentencing.
"So," Mr. Min began, tapping his pen, "how was your week?"
Silence.
Naina opened her mouth to answer, but before she could, Mr. Min continued, "Did you complete everything assigned? Did you maintain Hana and Haarin's reputation? Or did you cause trouble somewhere?"
His tone was sharp, accusing—like he already expected the worst.
Geetanjali forced a respectful smile. "No, sir. We didn't cause any trouble."
Naina nodded politely. "Yes, sir. Just classes, homework, language practice, training... same routine."
Mr. Min raised an eyebrow. "Language practice? You two still struggle with Korean. Why?"
Naina's smile wavered. "...because it's not our first language?"
Geetanjali elbowed her subtly.
Mr. Min sighed. "Anyway. Why were you two dressed like you're about to go out somewhere?"
Both sisters swallowed. They were already late. They'd told the boys to stay at the convenience store until four.
Naina hesitantly murmured, "...we were... just planning to step out for a little fresh air."
Mr. Min narrowed his eyes.
"Where?"
"Uhh... nearest convenience store and... the park," Geetanjali answered, choosing honesty—but safely edited honesty.
Mr. Min leaned back, studying them.
"Why?"
Geetanjali inhaled deeply and delivered the excuse she'd prepared mentally for emergencies.
"Because back home we study only before exams. But here, we have to complete daily tasks, homework, language writing, everything. So... we need some fresh air. Otherwise we will... malfunction."
Naina nodded with sudden confidence. "Yes. Fresh air is needed."
The sisters exchanged a secret proud glance—we're such good liars, omg—before turning back toward Mr. Min.
He didn't look convinced. But he also didn't care enough to argue.
"Fine," he said finally. "Go. But come back early. If I have to send people to fetch you, that convenience store won't exist tomorrow. And the park? Gone."
