Family time

“Slow down.” I yank my hand from her when we stand in front of a door. I rub my wrist. Anna notices it.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to.” She looks guilty.

“It’s okay. Tell me baby” i was cut off by her hand over my mouth.

“Get in first and we talk.”

“Okay.” I manage to say.

I scan her room in amusement. Her room is painted with purple her favourite colour. She has a queen size bed in the middle of the room. On the right is her nightstand while computer desk placed on the left.  I can see band posters on her wall. There are Maroon 5, Queen, and Muse. I walk to her bookshelf wanting to know what book she interested in. She doesn’t have much, culinary book, economic, health magazine. What caught my attention is the Twilight Saga. I chuckle.

“What is it?” She says from behind me. She already places our belongings beside the bed and manages to put on a white tank top with blue shorts.

“You have a nice room. It’s comfy here.” She nods. “Also I never knew you’re a fan of vampire.” I pull out the twilight book from the bookshelf.

“I- I like it. Stephanie Meyer is a great author. Her writing is…” She cannot finish her sentence.

“Are you sure it’s the author? Or the actor?” I wiggle my eyebrows.

“It’s Ashley Greene. I have a crush on her since I’m in college.” She blushes. She mumbles the last part. I hear that though. I cannot help the grin that escapes from my lips.

"Not Kristen Stewart?" I ask.

"Nah. She's expressionless." She counters. I nod in agreement.

“Enough about it. What do you want to talk about?” Good way to change the topic.

“Earlier when I present myself to your parents why did you say I’m your best friend? And do you not want me to call you baby anymore?” I feel her body stiffens. She doesn’t say anything. I raise my eyebrow.

“Well it’s umm I haven’t told them about us.” I gasp in shock.

I sit on her bed in silent. Think. What am I thinking about.  Anna pulls me from my trance by waving her hand in front of me.

“I’m sorry. I don’t mean to hide our relationship. I’m just not ready. I will tell them though. You are too good to be a secret. Give me time. Elsa. Say something. Please.” She pleads.

I smile. “It’s okay. You have your time. I won’t rush you. Just don’t wait too long. I wish you could’ve told me earlier. I almost made a fool of myself. Okay.”

“I’m sorry and Thank you. I appreciate it. Now shall we sleep?” She asks. I nod.

I change my clothes into something more comfortable a plain t-shirt and sweatpants. I soon join her on the bed.

“Anna is it okay we sleep on the same bed? I mean I’m supposed to be your best friend, right.”

She shifts and snuggles into me placing her head on my chest and wrap her arm around my waist.

“It’s okay. I already lock the door. Hahaha. But my room isn’t sound proofed so we can’t have funny business. If you know what funny stands for.”

“You sneaky girl. How can I not jump on you right here and there if you keep nibbling my ear like that.”

She giggles but stops her action.

“Goodnight Elsa.” She yawns.

“Goodnight baby.” I peck her lips.
