After you hung up the phone with your best friend Taehyung, your heart sank. He called to tell you that his grandmother had set him up on a date with one of her wealthy friend's granddaughter. He seemed really excited and you were heartbroken because you liked him. You were scared that he would fall for her. 'What if they get engaged then married than have kids then retire together?!' You asked yourself. You had to calm yourself down and accept reality. Taehyung wanted you to come over and help him get ready. Being the good friend that you are, you went over there. You sat on his bed while he kept picking out outfits to wear and asked which one you liked best. "Are you sure I'm not over dressed?" He asked, seeming genuinely worried. You sighed and forced a smile. "Yes, I'm sure. You're going to a fancy restaurant right?" "Yeah, I just don't want to over do it." He was messing with his hair in the mirror trying to figure out what to do with it. You stood up and walked over to him. "Let me do it." He bent his knees a little to match your height so you could reach his hair better. As you combed your fingers through his soft hair, you felt tears forming in your eyes. You tried to blink them away, but Taehyung noticed. "What's wrong?" He asked. You shook your head quickly. "Nothing, I just haven't blinked in a while." You said. After you did his hair, he sprayed on some cologne. "Do you want to see a picture of her?" He asked. 'No.' "Sure." He swiped away on his phone before showing you the screen. No doubt she was gorgeous. You smiled weakly. "Wow, she's pretty." You said. "Yeah." He admired her picture and you looked away. "Oh, I almost forgot. Can you help me with my tie?" You went over and helped him. "You know you're old enough to tie your own tie." You said, teasing him. "I know, I just wanted you to do it." He said, grinning. That just sent you mixed signals. After you tied it you stepped back. "Alright, well I'll let you have some time to yourself before your date, so I'll get going." You said. "Text me after and let me know how it goes." You mumbled before you walked out of the room. After you closed the front door behind you, you couldn't hold the tears anymore and started crying. It was over. He already had someone. After years of longing for him, you realized you waited too long and now you're paying the price. You heard the door open slowly behind you and you froze. "(Y/n)." Taehyung said softly. You didn't bother wiping your tears because you knew he already knew. "What?" You whispered. "Look at me." He said. You sniffed and slowly turned around. "What's wrong?" He asked. You took a deep breath and looked down. "I don't want you to go on a date with her." You said. He smiled sympathetically. "Why not?" "Because I don't want you to fall in love with her and get married and have kids and-" You were cut off by him kissing you.  Your eyes widened and he pulled away. "I don't want to see you cry because of me." He said, wiping your tears with his thumbs. "I don't want to see you cry at all." "I don't-" "(Y/n), please say how you feel about me." You were at a loss for words. "I already know, but I need to hear it. Just tell me the words, and I'll stay here with you." He said. Now you were really confused. "I like you." You whispered. "That's all I needed to here." He said before kissing you again. When he pulled away, you furrowed your eyebrows. "Why are you doing this? I thought you were happy to go on your date." You said. "I pretended I was to make you jealous. I was hoping it would make you confess to me. I didn't think it would make you cry." You sighed. "So you already knew I liked you?" He nodded. "Why didn't you say anything sooner?" You asked. "Do you know how hard it was to keep hiding those feelings? I felt like I was going to explode." He grinned. "I know how hard it was, because I'm going through the same thing with you." You looked at him. "Huh?" "I like you too. I liked you before I knew you liked me." You huffed. "And you didn't do anything?!" "I'm sorry, I wanted to see how long it would take for you to confess. " "Why me? Why couldn't you have confessed first?" "I was just curious." "Hey!" You hit his shoulder. "That's not fair. How did you know I liked you anyway?" "I just had a feeling." You scoffed and crossed your arms. "So what now?" You asked, giggling. "Want to stay over tonight?" He asked."That's it? I do that anyway." "Not as a couple." You smiled. "As a couple? As in we're a couple now?" "Yeah, I mean, if you want to." "I want too." Taehyung smiled and invited you back in. "Wait, what about your date? I'm sure she was looking forward to it." "Right, hold on." He pulled his phone out and called her, putting it on speaker. "Hi Taehyung! Are you on your way?" A cheerful voice said. "About that, I have to cancel." "W-what? Oh, um, that's fine, we can do it some other time." "No, I have to cancel because I have a girlfriend now." "Um, is this some weird way to call me your girlfriend or-" "No, I mean I have a girlfriend who is not you. " "What?! A girlfriend?! How could you get a girlfriend right before our date?!" "I'm really sorry, gotta go, bye!" Taehyung said quickly, hanging up. "You're gonna delete her number now, right?" You asked, making Taehyung laugh. "I'm already on it, sweetie." You blushed. "I don't think if I can get used to that, but I like it." "You better, I'm going to call you that from now on." He said, pecking your nose.
