Chapter 15 - Miracles

Reader's POV

"It is good to have you back, Nexus." Strucker says as you walk alongside him through the halls of the Sokovian secret base in Eastern Europe. It had been months since your return to HYDRA and they finally we starting to trust you. Pity for them you had other intentions than just being a good little soldier.

"It's good to be back," You say as you stare straight ahead. You keep your face devoid of emotions as you use your new abilities to stealthily read everyone's minds. They gave you no information that you didn't already know, that is until you reach a new mind, one that hadn't been around before. Intrigued you quickly bow away from your father and head into the direction of the minds carrier. As you near him the thoughts become even louder making you stop in your tracks as a vision appears before you.

A bright blue light surrounds your mind as you look around to see your father standing in front of the man whose brain you were inside. "And you're telling me you can track the tele-porter?" Strucker says as he holds a tablet in his hands.

"Yes Baron, we have established his molecular structure and every time her appears or disappears from somewhere we receive a notification on this map."

"Good, the next time he appears on the map I want a team there to retrieve these 'Miracles' and bring them here for experimentation."

"Yes Sir,"

"Oh and make sure Nexus is on this team, her abilities will be useful in persuading them to come with us."

"Very well Sir," The man says before he turns and the vision disappears. You stand there for a moment completely confused before said man shows up before you and says, "Agent Nexus, The Baron would like you on the recovery team for new 'Miracles'." You nod and before you can say anything he says, "We have had our first ping and it's in Milwaukee. The Baron would like you to suit up." You nod as you make your way to your locker. Miracles? What exactly were they? Sighing you quickly change into your Kevlar jumpsuit and head toward the quen-jets.

Upon reaching it you see the looks of judgment on the other agent's faces and scowl. You wanted nothing more than to reach out with your mind and make them all writhe in pain but you don't. "What's it doing here?" You hear one of them say causing you to clutch tightly to the railing of your seat. "I'm surprised they even let it out on a mission after the Winter Soldier incident." At the mention of Bucky's Alias you instantly let out a shield that wraps around your mind and shields you from their voices.

You let out a sigh before you hear a familiar voice say, "Do you miss him?"

"Of course I miss him. I love him." You say inside your mind as you have a silent one on one with Minte.

"Yet you have yet to accomplish your mission?"

"I'm planning, I can't just go in guns blazing; that's how people get killed."

"And what about these so called Miracles they refer too. Will you allow HYDRA to experiment on them like they did you?"

"Of course not."

"Then what will you do?"

"I will do my job, then I will save them."

"Really?"

"No one deserves to be experimented on." You say before closing your eyes and waiting for the jet to arrive. Little did you know what awaited you in little old Milwaukee.

Bucky's POV

"I don't believe it!" Bucky yells out as he flings the new files back at Maria. "______ wouldn't do this!"

"I'm sorry Barnes but the info is solid. She has been working side by side with Strucker."

"It's not true! She must have a secret plan." He says as he grips tightly to the sides of the metal table. "I agree with Frosty, The twins said her plan was to get close enough to Strucker to take him out herself. This could all just be part of that." Tony says as he reads the mission reports in front of him. Maria sighs as she picks the scattered papers up and places them back in the file.

"The videos don't lie," She says as she pulls out a tablet and sets it down in front of them. They both lean forward and watch as ______ battles it out with what looked like humans with special abilities. Her eyes gleamed bright blue as she makes them fall all around her clutching their heads in pain.

Bucky's stomach churns at the sight of it. She hardly looked like herself anymore. She was becoming sicklier looking and it enraged him. "I still think she's on our side." Tony says as he slides the tablet back over to her and stands up. "I know her, even after her reboot she made a decision to go after Strucker alone, and we have no idea what happened to these 'Miracles' after HYDRA captured them. She may just be playing a part like any good assassin would."

"And if she has gone dark side?"

"I'll take care of it myself," Bucky says as he clenches his fists and walks from the room his mind filled with anger. Before he makes it to the end of the hallway Tony runs up beside him and says, "We found her, she in Milwaukee."

"Then let's go get her."
