When the car pulled into an abandoned parking lot you quickly jumped out and took a deep breath of the cool night air. Your mind quickly started to clear up as the cool air hit your lungs. "Let's go, there's a motel just up the road from here." He says his voice back to its cold and demanding tone. You let out a sigh as you place your ball cap back on your head and silently follow after him.

Even if you were to make a run for it you knew you wouldn't be able to outrun him. As you followed him you start to remember all the times you had followed him on missions and you let out a heavy sigh, even if he did kind of remember you it wouldn't be long before he remembered how the two of you had ended your friendship and then he would leave like all the other people you tried to get close too.

It felt like you had walked for ten miles when you came up to a rundown motel named the Crooked Moon. You chuckled a bit at the name before you quickly make your way in front of him and say, "Hang on a second, you can't just expect to walk in there and not have them notice you from TV."

He pauses and folds his arms over his chest as he says, "What do you expect to do then?"

You smirk as you say, "It may require a bit of makeover and a little role play, what do you think are you up for it?" He clenches his jaw as he says, "Don't touch my hair." You let out a laugh as you say, "Yes sir,"

"What are you laughing at?" He says as he narrows his eyes.

"You, do you know that it's usually a woman that's very protective over their hair?"

He rolls his eyes as he says, "Are you gonna hurry up or are we gonna have to sleep out here?" You step back to look him up and down before you reach into your bag and pull out a giant long sleeve shirt that you usually slept in and handing it to him said, "Put this on, It will hide your arm from them." He takes the shirt from you and eyeballs the midnight blue color and size before he turns back to you and says, "Where'd you get this?"

"It's mine, I like a lot of freedom when I sleep; and having a supersized shirt comes in handy." He sighs as he quickly pulls the shirt over his head and you smile as you see that it fits him perfectly.

"Good, arm taken care of, now just to get rid of the smudged black around your eyes. Is it alright if I touch your face?" You ask suddenly feeling a little shy. You see his body tense but he just nods. You reach back into your bag and smile once you find one of your makeup remover wipes and as you turn back to him say, "Okay, close your eyes." His blue eyes fill with concern and distrust and you raise an eyebrow as you say, "I promise I won't do anything other than wipe the black off." He lets out a sigh and closes his eyes but you can still see that his metal fist is clenched tight beside him.

You take a deep breath as you reach up and gently start to remove the black from his eyes. The last thing you wanted to do was to upset this already trust issued super soldier. You feel your fingers gently rub against his slight stubble and bit your lips as this was the first time the two of you had been this close, minus training together. You shake your head and quickly finish wiping the black off and when you were done place the wipe back in your bag, even if you were a murderer you didn't like to litter. "Okay now the last thing is your hair,"

"I told you not to..."

"Here," You said cutting him off in mid sentence. He looks down to see you holding out a hairbrush to him and tilts his head slightly. "You told me you didn't want me to touch your hair so here, oh and if you need a hair tie, here." You said as you kneeled down to place all of his uniform into your bag. When you stood back up and looked at him it was like looking at a totally different person. His shaggy brown hair was pulled back to reveal his handsome face. You quickly clear your mind as you say, "Okay when we go in let me do the talking." You could tell he didn't really want to put his life in your hands but he gulps down a breath of air and says, "Shall we then."

You nod as you hold your hand out to him. He stares at it for a second before saying, "What?"

"Oh for Pete's sake just give me your hand. It doesn't matter which one." You say as you reach forward and take his left hand in yours and start pulling him toward the motel. Even through his gloves you could feel the coolness of his metal hand. As you closed in on the motel you started to wonder if he could feel anything in that had or in the whole arm even. He used it just like he would his other arm. You made a mental note to ask him about it later. When you reach the motel office door you open it and smirk once you see a rather slender man with glasses standing behind the counter.

The way he eyed the two of you made you realize he was the type that had a hard time talking to woman and your smile grew brighter as you say, "Can I get a room please?" He swallows down a gulp of air as he says, "What size bed?" You look up as if to think about it and then leaning in closer to him so the Winter Soldier couldn't hear say, "Can I get two beds you know just in case one of them gets too dirty, if you know what I mean." His face turns red as he says, "Uh yeah... Sure... we have just the thing for you... here room 7B, anything else I can help you with?" You smile sweetly as you hand him some cash and say, "No, thank you." With a quick smile you grab the key and glancing up at your companion say, "Shall we?" You smile as he plays along by saying, "Of course." He wraps his arm around your waist as he motions you toward the door.

When the two of you were safe inside your motel room you turn toward him a smile on your face as you say, "And that is how you get a great room with two beds and a mini fridge for half the price." He nods as he says, "Did we need the fridge?" You scoff as you say, "Of course, they have these awesome little bottles of liquor in them that make it worth it. Oh and sometimes you even get cookies." You say as you walk over and opening the fridge pull out two little bottles Jack and walking over to him hold one out to him. "Here take it as a thank you for saving my ass today." He glances at the bottle before he turns back to you and says, "Whiskey, I figured you for a vodka kind of girl. Considering your Russian and all." You smile as you twist the cap of your bottle off and say, "Oh no, I may be Russian but I hate Vodka. Jack just goes down easier and tastes better." He smirks as he sets down on his bed and twists the cap of his bottle off and downs it in one gulp.

"I take it you like Whiskey too?" He nods as he says, "It has its perks." You smile as you take your bag from around your neck and set it down on your bed. As you start to walk away you glance down at it to see the Winter Soldier's file barely showing and sigh as you reach down and pulling it out hand it to him. "What's this?" He says as he takes the file from your hands. "It's yours, when they sent me after you they gave me your whole file everything that they ever did or wanted to do is in this. Since I'm not taking you in anymore I figured you'd like it. It may jog some of your lost memories." He stares at the file without blinking as he says, "Thanks." You nod as you finish your little bottle and toss it in the trash.

"If you don't mind, I'm gonna take a shower. Is that okay?" He nods still not taking his eyes off the still unopened file. You take a deep breath as you walk back over to your bag and pulling out your little necessities bag head to the bathroom. For the kind of motel you were in the bathroom was rather nice. As you close the door behind you, you let out a sigh of relief. Being close to him was actually harder than you had initially thought. With normal clothes on he was the most handsome man you had ever seen. Even his picture from the Smithsonian didn't do him any justice. You look into the mirror and after shaking your head decide that the only way to get your mind off of him was to take a shower and forget about the events of the day. Little did you know that The Winter Soldier's memories were returning at a much faster rate than you would have imagined.
