Chapter 8 - Sisters

Bucky's POV

Bucky watched as Nexus slowly walked over to the red headed woman he had seen with Steve on the bridge and wrapped her arms around her. As he looked at the two of them together he started to see the resemblance between them and silently felt a slight tinge of happiness for her. He turned and looked at Steve who was smiling as he said, "Welcome home Bucky." Bucky was about to smile when he heard Steve's friend gasp and his attention immediately turned to a now unconscious Nexus lying on the floor. 

"Nexus!" He yelled as he knelt down beside her and lifted her head up into his arms. Smoothing her hair out of her face he kept his eyes focused on her unconscious face. 

"What happened Nat?" Steve asks as he reaches a hand out to her to steady her. 

"We were hugging and then I felt her inside my head reading my every thought. Then she passed out."

 Steve turns toward his friend who is still holding tightly to Nexus's body. "Come on Bucky, I've got a room we can lay her in."Bucky nods as he wraps his arms around her body and lifting her up bridal style follows closely behind Steve. 

Once she was lying in a bed Bucky hears Steve say, "Did you know?" Bucky sighs and says as he pulls a blanket over her body. 

"I think I did... It's a little hazy but I think she told me once." 

He then sits down on the side of the bed as Steve says, "How much do you remember?" 

Bucky rubs his forehead as he says, "A few things, it might have taken me longer to remember if she had given me the file Hydra had on me." 

Steve folds his arms over his chest as he says, "So Hydra had a telepath in its ranks, there's no telling what she could learn for them without someone ever knowing." 

Bucky glances over at her as he says, "That's why we were paired together for many of my missions. She was the brains and I was the brawn, but then-" He squints his eyes as he tries to remember why they didn't work together anymore.

"Bucky?" Steve says as he reaches over and places a hand on his friend's shoulder. 

"For the life of me I can't remember why we haven't talked since." Bucky rubbed his forehead as he glanced back down at her. Why couldn't he remember? Did she mess with his memories to make him forget something or worse, had Hydra remove the memories he now wanted to remember most? 

"Hey Bucky, let's let her rest and you can ask her anything you want when she wakes up." 

Bucky nods as he turns to see Nat walking into the room a couple of cups of water in her hands. She hands one to him as she says, "No hard feelings about the bridge, you bringing my sister back to me is enough of a payment for what you did." He nods as he stands and taking the glass follows Steve out into the living room where he and Steve started reminiscing about the past.

Natasha's POV

Nat stares at her sister's sleeping form as she remembers the last time she saw her. It had been years since she had seen you and even as the memory filled her mind she fought with the tears that threatened to fill her eyes.

~~Flashback~~

"Sestrenka! Mama wants you!" Nat cries out up the stairs of her family's home at her younger sister. 

A little girl with (H/C) hair runs down the stairs as she says, "Okay Nat," A giant smile covers her face as she enters the kitchen to find their mother standing by the stove making Pelmeni*. A giant smile covers _____'s face as she looks up at her mother and says, "Can I help?"
