 Jaenelle's POV

"Hey Kat, Are you okay?" I asked concerned that I hadn't been paying my full attention on the Mikaelson's meaning she would be in danger.

"Yes I'm fine you really need to stop worrying about me. I was just checking in like you asked me to." Katherine replied to me with slight laughter laced into her words.

"I was just worried I missed somthing with the Mikaelson's, you can never be too careful," I tryed to keep my voice neutral avoiding using the worry and paranoia that desperately wanted to come through in my words.

When she replied I knew I had failed my attempt to hide my true emotions from her. I thought it would be easier over the phone but obviously not.

"Jaenelle listen to me there's a real reason I called you when I needed help. I actually trust you! Only you I don't trust anyone else. So stop worring I know you can do this easily and still get to have fun doing it," she started out in a firm voice making sure I didn't argue with her, not that there would be any point she'd win everytime. Then her voice changed to a more teasing laughter when she hinted at me about getting together with someone like she had been tryng to do for over 500 years.

"Okay Kat," I replied knowing this topid in our conversation wouldn't end until I agreed with whatever she said.

"By the way Kat I've got some news for you about some of the familar faces of Mystic Falls," I stated knowing she'd probably have some interest in Avery and her short lived relationship with a Mikaelson.

"Oh what has happened that is so gossip worthy," She chuckled probably not really caring at the moment.

"You remember Caroline Forbes right? Well her cousin in living with her, has for a while. I just don't know whether you knew about her. Avery Forbes she's sixteen I think," I rambled on guessing on her age as she was best friends with Jeremy so she was probably his age.

"What about her? If she's a Forbes she is probably an annoying or dumb blond, there wasn't anything useful in turning Caroline," She stated sounding rather bitter.

"Well she has had a very interesting relationship recenetly, with one of the Originals," I smiled knowing that her bare interest prior had hit the top of the scale of interest now.

"Who Klaus?" She questioned obviously using him as her first guess.

"No of course not, he is still love struck with the other Forbes, it's Kol," I chuckled knowing she wouldn't have expected it.

"Kol?" She practically yelled down the phone, "Did I hear you right or am I going deaf in my old age?"

"No she is, I mean was with him but they broke up. To be honest I don't think they were official I think they had gone on one date or something," I shrugged although I knew she couldn't see what I was doing.

"But he is heartless and manipulative and that's saying something if I think that," She chuckled, "He's worse than Klaus."

"I know, but he did seem to like her, well that's what I saw of them together at a difference. But Avery came crying to my boyfriend about it and we helped her," I stated.

I guess I could call Jeremy my boyfriend we had been on a date or two and he knew my biggest secret. I could see a near future for us nothing long term though, he was human I was a vampire nothing good could come of that.

"Boyfriend huh?" I could see the smirk on her face although I couldn't physically see it. It was just clear in her voice.

"Yeah, I got a boyfriend is that okay?" I joked knowing she had no control over me but I knew she'd have a good try at it.

"Of course it's fine as long as you tell me all about it Jaenelle. I can't be there to see you as your hopeless romantic self, so tell me about it," She chuckled, "Who is he?"

She had always wanted me to find someone to be with, but she never could. I think she was pleased I had found someone but I just had to see how her voice changed when I told her who.

"Jeremy Gilbert," I stated in more of a mutter un-sure how to tell her so I just said it.

"Baby Gilbert? Really? You couldn't do any better?" She basically exclaimed.

"He's sweet and good looking, he knows about vampires and he took me on the most romantic first date," I sighed.

"Where did he take you? The grill," She laughed.

Basically the Grill was the only thing to do around here, there was nothing. I was just lucky he knew about the Falls because it was a good first date and I loved the idea of going anywhere but the Grill. For a first date it was the furthest thing from romantic having the whole town sat around listening to your every word.

"No he took me to the Falls, he had home cooked food, not that vampires really need to eat but at that point he didn't know I wasn't human," I smiled softly knowing she probably thought it was stupid.

"Better than the Grill. So what else has happened that you would consider interesting and worth me hearing?" She asked obviously getting bored about me talking about myself and Jeremy.

Although Katherine was my best friend she was very selfish and self-absorbed. She didn't enjoy spending much more than five minutes talking about anything but herself. I still was friends with her because although she had some bad traits she was still a nice person when she wanted to be. Mainly to me only though.

"The Originals threw a ball?" I shrugged not knowing whether she found that important or not.

"I'm sorry Jaenelle but I must go, but keep up your good job of keeping an eye on Klaus and his siblings," She stated hanging up moments after not allowing me to say goodbye.

Seen as she had hung up now, I decided to get ready for what I could call my second date with Jeremy. It was only at the Grill but I was grateful that he wanted to spend time with me.

I changed into some casual clothes. I guess you could call them casual but none of my clothes consisted of jeans and plain boring t-shirts.

I left the Salvatore's house not talking to Damon or Stefan who were sat in the parlor drinking as per usual. My car journey to the grill was quick even when I only went over the speed limit a little, which was better than I had ever done.

Stepping into the grill I saw Jeremy by the pool table so I made my way over to him and smiled.

"Hey Jer," I said with a small smile.

"Hi Jaenelle, do you want to eat something now, or we could play pool or it's up to you," He chuckled seeming slightly awkward trying to chose what we were going to do.

"We can play pool if you want?" I smiled.

I wasn't that good at pool but I could tell he enjoyed it so I was willing to join in with whatever he wanted to do. Anyway my other option was eating and I didn't really need to do that so he could eat after or now depending if he was hungry.

"Okay, let me finish this game it'll only last a minute or two and we can start a new game," He smiled back.

I watched him as he played pool smiling at how much he enjoyed it.

Once he had finished we set up the table for another game.

"Do you know how to play?" He asked me raising an eyebrow.

"Not really, I know the aspect of the game but I don't really know how to play," I shrugged knowing he'd help me if I needed it.

"Okay I'll show you," He smiled standing behind me so he could guide my arms, so it was easier for him to show me ho to play.
