Chapter 11- Waking Up

"I need to wake up. Not just for me,but for daddy and Alex too."
Ed's P.O.V
Another week has gone by and she still hasn't woken up. I've spent all my time here with Alice. I refused to leave. But Liam being Liam, he demanded I go home and shower and sleep. I didn't feel like fighting with him today, I reluctantly left and went home.
When I got home I went to Alice's room. The bed was unmade. The dresser doors open. Her stuffed animal was on the floor . I sighed. I didn't fix her room since what had happened. I shook the thought out of my head. Before i could even think about what has occured in these last few weeks.
I tidy up the room. Then I got her yellow blanket and her stuffed animal and put them by the door to bring back to her.
I took and qucick shower and, then I packed my gituar to play for Alice. I sighed and ploped down on my bed. Soon enough darkness took over.
I was pulled from my deep slumber by my phone ringing. I looked at the caller ID it was the hospital .
"Hello" I answered praying it was good news not bad,I don't think I could handle it if something else bad happened to my baby girl.
"WHAT? OK I'm on my way I'll be right there!"
I smiled my baby girl,my princess was ok! She was awake!! I'm going to see my princess !
I was mad at myself for not being there when she woke up. At least I'll see her in a few minutes. Soon enough I walk into the room. I smiled seeing my baby girl awake and talking to the doctor. He saw me and smiled,and made his way out the door .
I walk by her bed and take her hand.
"Daddy?" She asked confirming that it was me I answered "Yes baby girl its me I'm right here ok? How are you doing?" I asked her,worried that something might be wrong or that she was in pain.
"I'm OK,well as OK as I can be for what had happened to me." She smiled. I grinned at her.
"Hey guess what the doctor told me Alice?!
He told me that there might be a way for you to get your eye sight back!" I tell her. She gasps and smiles. "Really?" She asks, almost bouncing in bed. I laughed and replied to her "Yes really. But the only this is, the Doctor said that you have to wait until you are fully healed before you can do it .But they also said said it might not work. Its different for everyone. " I told her slowly,worried about how she would take the news. Her smile never faulterd.
"OK cool. I'd rather wait till I'm better anyways. OK the only way to find out is after the surgery." I laughed a bit at her positive reaction . I sat on the side of her bed. I pulled out the bag I had brought with me. I pulled out her yellow blanket and stuffed animal.
" I brought you your yellow blanket and your favorite stuffed animal." She smiled and I pulled the blanket over her and placed the little stuffed animal in her hands. She snuggled close to it.
"Thank you ." she wisperes.
"No problem princess." I sit in the chair next to her bed and took her hand in mine.
I let out a shaky breath before starting to talk.
"I'm so sorry Alice. I didn't, I -I -I couldn't stop them. And I'm so sorry! I promise I'll be a better father and I promise to protect you form now on to the best of my ability. I came so close to losing you. My baby,..and I can't go through anything like that again. I love you so much." I tell her pushing the hair away from her pale face. A tear fell and I wiped it away. "I love you to daddy and I don't blame you. Its not your fault,I know you tried to stop them. I'm OK now. OK? " she assured me
"OK I wispered. I wipe away my tears. I cleared my throat.
I pulled my gituar out of its case.
" Daddy, I'm tired." She yawns.
"Ok " I tell her. Then I started to strum the cords on my gituar. Playing the cords to "photograph",and I sing to her until she falls asleep. I smiled looking at her. She looked so peaceful. A small smile on her lips. I let out a sigh and then put my gituar away.
I take Alice's hand in mine. I should probably tell everyone that she was awake. I'll tell then first thing tomorrow. I want to spend some time with my daughter for a little bit before everyone comes. I lay my head down on the side of her bed.
"I love you Alice .Sweet dreams baby girl." I wispered before I closed my eyes completely,letting darkness take over. A smile on my face knowing I finally had my daughter back.
