Chapter 13- surprise part one

Ed's P.O.V

beep beep beep beep beep beep!

I jolt to an up-right position my breathing labored and heavy, my eyes darting left to right looking for any signs of danger looking for where the noise was coming from. My eyes land on my phone the screen of the phone was lit up my alarm on my phone going off. I let out a deep sigh of relief, reaching for my phone turning off the alarm on my phone. Time to start getting ready for Alice's party that starts at 2:30 this after noon, and it is 9:00 now. Okay I will let Alice sleep for a little while longer while I make breakfast and then I will wake her up and we will start to celebrate this very special day.

I make my way to the kitchen, getting all of the ingredients and kitchen utensils I need for breakfast I'm going to make her favorites; french toast,eggs, sausage, with some fresh fruit on the side. Its a lot to make but I can do, it might take me a while, but it will all be worth it. I started off with the french toast putting the bread in the egg cinnamon and sugar mixture then putting it sizzling pan to let it cook then put it on the plate, then continued the process till i had a good stack of french toast, then I went on to eggs mixing them to make scrambled eggs pouring them into the pan to let them cook. I then went to start cutting up the fruit, the strawberries,pineapple and bananas, and put them all in a bowl and attended to the eggs again ,they are almost done. So I started to make the patties for the sausage. Before I knew it I had breakfast ready,and the plates were made. I made my way to Alice's room to wake her for breakfast.

The door squeaks as the door opened. I cringed a little bit. I walked to her bed and slightly shake her shoulder to wake her up.

" Princess wake up. Happy birthday baby girl" I tell her as she opens her eyes. She smiles and wraps her arms around my neck.

"Thank you daddy!" she giggles I laughed along with her, her laugh is contagious I can't help it! It's amazing.

"Your welcome baby girl'' I picked her up and walked down the stairs. Alice laughing the whole way down. I sat her down by the table in front of her plate.

" I made all of your favorites for breakfast." I inform her she smiles and starts to dig into her food. I chuckled and followed her lead. Soon enough we were both done with our food and I was ready start the day full of more surprises!

" So Alice, what do you want to do for your birthday?" I asked. Her eyebrows came down to a scowl with her nose crinkling up as she thought about what she wanted to do for the day. Then she smiled and started to jump up and down.

"I know I know I know ! I want to go to the park!" as soon as the words left her mouth my body became ridged.

"Daddy! Daddy help me!!!! Ahhhhh Daddy!" I ran after her and the takers. My fist coming in contact with one of the nameless men's face. I was tackled to the ground punch after punch being thrown at my face. I fight harder I need to save my baby girl. I was held to the ground forced to watch the faceless nameless men take my daughter away from me.

I was pulled back to reality by Alice tapping on my shoulder.

"Daddy, Daddy are you okay?" concern lacing through her voice. I let out a shaky breath and hugged her close to me.

" Yes I'm fine baby girl. Are you sure you want to go to the park." I asked her. Her head bobbed up and down in excitement. I nod.

" OK lets go" I have to start to let this go, I can't let this dictate my life anymore. I wont let it ruin my life or Alice's. We both need to start to move on with our lives. Having said that I picked Alice up and walked out the door.

Once we finally made it to the park, Alice told me she wanted to go on the swings first. So I complied and set her on the swing slowly pulling the swing towards me and pushing it forward. I kept repeating the movement until she was going really high in the air, with her laughing and squealing bringing a smile to my face ,knowing that she is having the time of her life.

"Daddy look at me! Do you see how high I am going? " she asked

" I see baby girl! That's so cool!" I tell her.

My phone kept going off in my pocket, people texting wanting confirmation on where and when the party was,also RSVPing to the party. I didnt stay on my phone,only long enough to look to see who was texting. I was not going to make the same mistake twice. By now she has going to the slides and was going down the tallest one, I was at the bottom waiting to catch her when she came down. I heard her count to three and then all I hear is her squeals of excitement and she slid right in to my arms. I held on to her and spun in circles a few times.

"Daddy im hungry can we go home now?" she pleaded. laying her head down on my shoulder cuddling into me. Her laughter and her energy dying down.

" sure baby girl." I walk back to the car and drove us home. I laid her down on the couch because she had fallen asleep in the car on the way home and I prepared lunch for us.

I need to wake Alice up people we going to be arriving in a few hours.

"Alice baby girl its time to wake up I made us lunch." I rub her back to wake her up.She sat up and rubbed the sleep out of her eyes and took the bowl of food. Beginning to eat the bowl of mac'n cheese. I pushed her hair out of her face and put it behind her ear.

"So I have a surprise for you for your birthday." I inform her,her eyes light up and smiles like there is not a care in the world. (Which there isnt, not today or any day as long as I can help it.)

I took her upstairs and let her get ready as I made sure that I had everything I needed for the party to be perfect. I heard her voice from upstairs saying she was ready, and I heard the jingle of shadows leash as she helped Alice down the stairs and to the living room. As soon as she sat down the door bell rang, time for the party to begin.....
