"It'll be cool, I promise." Calum insisted with a smile.

We were in his mum's minivan with his band mates and the two girls as we drove towards a small venue they'd be playing at.

I nodded uneasily as he spoke, looking out my window to avoid eye contact with anyone else.

The tension in the car was high.

I had ended up in the passenger seat, which was Calum's request, resulting in a very annoyed Perry, who usually sat in the front with him.

He pulled up to the venue, and began to unload the instruments from the van with the boys.

Not knowing what to do, I went to stand by the girls, Perry and Kym, which probably wasn't the best idea.

"Don't worry, hun. You probably won't have to deal with this for much longer. He doesn't usually go for girls like you." Perry informed me as she rolled her eyes.

I nodded slightly, uneasily shifting my feet. I felt odd standing there in my converse and jeans while the two girls wore short tight skirts and heels. Really tall heels.

The girls whispered back and forth among themselves, looking at me every so often.

This was gonna be a long night.

"Hey guys, we're fivesauce, thanks for coming down to watch us." Calum said into the microphone.

What the hell was 'fivesauce'? I had no freaking clue.

"Yeah, we're five seconds of summer." Luke added in, smiling at the crowd.

"Jesus, Luke. Calum literally just said that." Michael spoke, resulting in laughter from the crowd.

"Yeah, anyways, since no one will shut up, this is our new song, Don't Stop." Ashton said into the mic, a smile plastered on his face.

and so, the music began.

I evaluated the song in my head as they performed.

It was catchy,

It was pretty well written,

And damn did they play and sing well.

"THANK YOU GUYS THAT WAS GREAT AND FUN YEAH YOU GUYS ROCK!" Ashton yelled as he laughed. Their performance was over, and I had loved every second of it. Who would've ever known the high school stoner squad was such a bad ass band?

Calum jumped off the stage and ran towards me. "How was it? Were we okay??" He asked, slightly out of breath from performing and running.

I smiled as I nodded quickly. "You guys were freakin great, I liked it" I replied.

We stood, staring at each other for a second as the moonlight shone around the venue. Some people from the crowd noticed us, but to us, it was just him and I in our own little world.

And boy did I want to kiss him.

I bit my lip as I stared into his eyes, hoping he'd catch the hint, but it probably just looked like I was in pain or something.

But to my surprise, his hand moved to cup my cheek. My body froze. Suddenly, I became nervous, and emotions of self consciousness and happiness overwhelmed me.

"Yo, Cal. You rocked tonight!" A high pitched, familiar voice shrieked.

I turned to see Perry. Of course it was Perry.

Calum sighed as he took his hand back and turned to Perry.

"Yep yep, thanks." He mumbled, forcing a smile.

And it was then that I realized Perry would be an even bigger pain in the ass than I had thought.
