// This is Chapter 4. Read this only if you have read "Make him Talk"
Minho stepped into the main race area, breathing in deeply as the crowd went wild, chanting his name-"Lee Know!"-like it was their lifeline. The energy was electric, raw, the kind that settled deep in his chest and set his heart pounding. Though most people knew him as a respected medical professor, devoting his life to treating and healing, this was his hidden world. Medicine was something he loved, sure, but this-this was where he felt alive, where he could let loose, no white coat or stethoscope needed. Street racing was his escape, his pulse, his freedom.
He strode confidently toward his bike, casting a quick sidelong glance at his opponent. The guy was glaring at him, eyes sharp as daggers, a silent challenge flashing between them. Minho responded with a smirk and a casual wink, relishing the thrill.
It didn't take long to recognize the guy-Seungmin, one of his students from the university, a computer science major specializing in cybersecurity. He was one of the students who were transferred recently from different cities. He have seen the documents of those students.
"Didn't expect to find you here, Professor," Seungmin called over, sarcasm coloring his tone. "Last I checked, street racing wasn't part of the syllabus."
Minho chuckled, adjusting his gloves. "Consider it extra credit, Seungmin. Gotta keep my students on their toes, right?"
Seungmin ran a hand over his bike, eyes glinting with confidence. "Just don't think I'll go easy on you. I've been tuning this beauty for weeks. She's ready to fly."
Minho raised an eyebrow. "Cybersecurity major who moonlights as a gearhead? Impressive. But don't think I'm easy to beat, kid. I didn't get into this for a Sunday drive."
Seungmin shot back, grinning, "Oh, I wouldn't dream of it. Figured you could use a little adrenaline after all those lectures on... spleens, wasn't it?"
Minho laughed, the sound mixing with the low rumble of engines around them. "Close enough. Maybe I'll give you an anatomy lesson in racing. Think you can keep up?"
Seungmin cringed, smirking. "Old professor logic. Just hope you're ready to get left in the dust by your student, Professor. Have an excuse ready for when you lose."
Minho leaned in closer, his voice a low, playful challenge. "Don't get cocky, Seungmin. I've been racing since before you knew how to ride. But I'll tell you what-if you manage to keep up, I'll do whatever you want me to."
Seungmin laughed, his eyes gleaming with competitive fire. "Oh, I'm holding you to that. Don't be surprised if you're the one begging for a rematch."
"We'll see, Seungmin," Minho replied, smirking. "Just remember-I warned you when you're eating my dust."
Just then, Heena, the race referee, blew her whistle, snapping both of them to attention. She shot them a single, sharp look that quieted the banter. Known for her no-nonsense attitude, Heena didn't tolerate delay or cocky backtalk, and they both knew it was time to focus.
As the crowd's cheers grew louder, the night air buzzed with anticipation. Both riders, now silent, took their positions, helmets on and eyes fixed ahead. Minho's fingers flexed around the handlebars, the weight of his helmet steadying his mind. Beside him, Seungmin adjusted his bike's controls, his face a mix of excitement and concentration, finally stepping out of his quiet, bookish demeanor.
The street was dimly lit, shadows stretching over the asphalt. To the crowd, Minho was the veteran, the legend, the reason they shouted "Lee Know!" like it was a war cry. For Seungmin, this was his first taste of the Seoul racing scene. He'd just transferred from Busan, where he'd spent most of his life as a studious kid with a secret passion for speed. Racing was his thrill, his hobby, and tonight, he was ready to prove himself.
