"Light is easy to love, show me your darkness"

Jisung sat at his desk, staring intently at the file Changbin had given him half an hour ago. It contained all the updates on the latest murder case that the police had managed to uncover. It wasn't anything fancy, but Jisung didn't want to miss a single detail. He kept squeezing the stress ball on his desk every few seconds.

The room was dimly lit, just the way Jisung liked it. He sat there alone, wearing glasses and a white lab coat, having just returned from thoroughly examining the dead body with the other forensic team members.

Suddenly, the door opened, and someone sat in the chair beside Jisung. He was too engrossed in the file to notice. The person folded his legs on the table, and just as Jisung was about to grab his stress ball, he squeezed the leg hard thinking of it as his stress ball, making the other person yelp in pain.

Jisung jumped from his chair and stared at the person behind him with wide eyes, his hands now on his chest. There was a moment of silence as Jisung realized what was happening.

"You? What are you doing here?"

"What do you mean, why am I here? I work here," said Hyunjin, still grabbing his leg where Jisung had squeezed it harshly. "You freaking cat! You dug your nails into my skin," Hyunjin hissed, making an almost pouty face.

"Then why were you sitting on my head? I thought I grabbed my stress ball." Jisung looked down and saw his stress ball on the floor, thanks to Hyunjin's legs knocking half of the things off the table.

"Why are you even here in the first place?" Jisung asked irritably.

"I want to talk to you about something."

"Why me?" Jisung folded his arms.

Hyunjin sighed, letting go of his leg and sitting properly in the chair. "I've been reading the latest case files. I think it's someone among us."

"Then it's definitely you. I knew it. Are you here to confess your sins?"

Hyunjin rolled his eyes. "No, I'm here because at this point, I trust no one else to share all my thoughts about this case."

"Then why are you trusting me?"

"Because I highly doubt it's you. You're too obvious to be doubted right now. You're smart, you've been part of every incident caused by the murderer, and you know the most about him," Hyunjin said, opening the files he was holding. "And the murderer wouldn't be dumb enough to make himself this obvious."

Jisung arched an eyebrow. Hyunjin's words were making sense.

"Plus, I have to trust someone, so I settled on you. If I'm wrong and you end up being the murderer, then I guess I'm digging my own grave. But there was no other option."

"And why should I trust you?"

"That's a good question," Hyunjin said, and Jisung facepalmed.

"You're being suspicious, Hyunjin. You've never been this involved in any case before. The reality is you wanted to know all the latest updates about the case, so you knew who to find for that, and here you are. Isn't it?"

"That's partly true. I do want to know the updates, but that's because this case is interesting, unlike the other boring ones. Things started making sense to me, and I kept going. Now I can't leave things halfway until I find everything."
