"Felix, look! I brought you those cookies you love so much," a girl chirped, setting a few cookies down on his plate with a soft smile.

"Ohhh, Sunie! Thank you! You've just lifted my mood in seconds after that nightmare of an exam!" Felix laughed, a warm grin lighting up his face.

They were now in a canteen as once their math test was over which was hell of a time for Felix specially.

Her face brightened at his gratitude, and she began chatting with him, their conversation flowing until Jisung, seated beside Felix, grew bored and kicked him lightly under the table.

"Ah, the side effects of befriending the popular kid," Jisung grumbled, munching on his food with a smirk.

Felix rolled his eyes. "You're one to talk. Just yesterday, I overheard some girls swooning over your cheeks," he teased, gesturing at Jisung, who was still eating unbothered. "Honestly, I can feel some of them staring at us even now. They probably sit near us in the canteen every day just for the view," he laughed, catching Jisung's eye.

They sat at a corner table in the canteen, away from most of the chatter, with just one boy seated at a distant table across from them. The boy seemed utterly absorbed in his phone, his gaze never lifting, seemingly indifferent even when Felix and Jisung's voices echoed loudly across the room.

"Shut up!" Jisung muttered, and Felix burst into laughter, his laughter ringing through the canteen, causing Jisung to frown in mock irritation.

"Someone's feeling burnt," Felix teased, his chuckles growing louder, making Jisung pout.

"Fine, fine! But hey, did Chan ask you out yet or not?" Jisung's tone turned curious, a mischievous glint in his eyes as he tried changing the topic.

"Yeah," Felix admitted, his voice barely audible. Still, Jisung caught it.

"Really? Finally, that guy found some courage! I swear, if I had to watch him blush over you one more time, I was gonna punch him!" Jisung exclaimed, loud enough to draw a few curious glances their way. Felix quickly shut him up by shoving a cookie in his mouth.

"Can you like not announce my life to the entire canteen?" Felix whispered, clearly annoyed, as he glanced around at the staring students.

Realizing his slip, Jisung softened, "Ah, my bad," he mumbled, removing the cookie from his mouth, looking sheepish.

"So, when's the date?" he asked, lowering his voice this time.

"This weekend."

A genuine smile spread across Jisung's face. "You happy about it, Lix? You like him, right?"

Felix nodded, his eyes softening. "Of course I do. He's kind, caring... just full-on boyfriend material."

"True. Even I had a tiny crush on him before I realized he was into you," Jisung admitted with a shrug, savoring the cookie Felix had given him.

Felix laughed, "Oh, I could tell. You're not exactly subtle when you're crushing on someone."

Jisung grinned, but then his expression turned serious. "Thank God for a bit of good news. I swear, though, work has been insanely dull. I didn't sign up for this nonsense when I became a forensic trainee. Did you hear about the boy who was murdered yesterday?"

"Oh yeah, what happened?"

"His wife killed him because he forgot her favorite vegetable," Jisung replied, shaking his head. "And another case—two teens fought, and one accidentally hit the other's head. He bled out and died. And then the guy calls the cops, claiming he just 'found him dead.'"
