(in a terrible voice) Happy B-day to MEEEEEE TO YOUUUUUUU
I suck at action-based chapters, I'm sorry if it looks all over the place. ENJOY!
You felt like you were on fire. Literally. You felt like someone had poured gasoline over your entire body before setting it on fire with a cigarette. Then it felt like someone was pulling you two different ways, a tug of war with your own body. Which way do you go?
Open your eyes first.
You try, and were shocked to find yourself in the room you knew all to well. The torture room that the, whatever it was, would use to make you suffer. Except this time, the whole place looked ready to collapse. The colours were dull and covered in dust and filth. Cracks covering the walls with some slabs on the floor, both from the wall and ceiling. How did it go down this fast?
Your questions was answered by the familiar sound of water running, and falling through the cracks. And you immediately remember why you were here in the first place. And when you look down at your body, the only thing that was out of place, and the reason for the pain, was the large chuck of meat missing from your shoulder, oddly enough it wasn't bleeding.
If I am going down, I'm taking you with me.
You snap out of your thoughts at the sudden voice, remembering the last encounter with this sudden attack. You don't know what came over you after that moment, but you run out of the torture room without hesitation and find yourself in a hallway with a lot of doors. Either the shard was messing with you, or he was hiding from you. Or the, thing was messing with you.
As if you really care about that thing. He is no better than your sire.
You ignore the voice and immediately start the process of opening up every single room and looking for either the entity, or Shard star. You couldn't run any more, no matter how much you wanted to. You had to do something. You promised them that they would go home by Halloween. You were not going to let them down. Besides. If you left the shard alone, you would be no better than him.
Oh. Look who decided to play the hero now.
With every door that opened, a new one would take its place, and replace it with something from your past that you tried to ignore or block from your mind. Some were embarrassing moments, some were moments you couldn't remember until it was mentioned/right in front of you. Some were. Not so pleasant. You wished that you forget those ones.
The liquid rose faster and now reached your ankles. Crap. You needed to hurry and find Shard star. And make sure you don't use your bad arm in the process.
While the corridor never seemed to end, the lights were getting darker, more gloomy and depressive. You were almost certain that you were on the right track. Especially when the 'decorative words' on the walls. What was strange though, was that some of them were not words you had been called before. Their fonts were the same, the colours were all different. The only thing that changed were the words themselves. What did that mean though?
"Blast it" you mutter as you feel the water raise slightly above your ankles "come on Alastor, give me a clue or something" maybe shouting would work? "ALASTOR?! CAN YOU HEAR ME?!"
Nothing, no reply. Clearly, the water was too loud for him to hear anything. At least you could save your voice box... wait, if this is your mind, does that mean you could damage your voice? Could you manifest things? No. Don't focus on that now, you had to be getting closer to whatever this was... unless the entity was tricking you.
