Never trust someone so much in life because even your shadow leaves you in darkness.
Kiara recalled the good times that she had spent with Jordan Stinson, her husband, and a silent tear fell from her cheeks as she closed her eyes.
She was in her early twenties when she first met Jordan. They were both taking MBA courses at a local university. Jordan was the most handsome guy at the university and she was the most intelligent girl. Many of her friends would request her to complete their assignments and she would do it. So it was no wonder when one day Jordan approached her and asked for her help.
Jordan was a charismatic man, physically striking, well above medium height, with a barrel chest and broad shoulders. His complexion was swarthy and had a perfectly shaped nose with olive black eyes.
"Can I talk to you for two minutes?", Jordan asked her while she was studying in the library. She nodded. Jordan took a seat beside her.
"I heard a lot of my friends praising you and the way you helped them with their assignment", Jordan said. "Can you also help me please?".
Kiara was taken aback. It's true that she helps her friends but now it's enough. She has been neglecting her own assignment while trying to do assignment for others. She was about to refuse but when she saw the desperate look in his eyes, she found herself accepting.
"Leave your assignment here and I will complete it in two days", she said
"You are misunderstanding me", he said. Kiara raised her eyebrows and thought she heard it wrong." I want to complete it by myself. I want you to explain to me how to do it".
Kiara looked at him with disbelief. He really looked like the guy who would enjoy himself with girls rather than studying. But maybe looks can be deceptive.
"I will be glad to help you", Kiara promised.
"Thank you, Kiara", he said with a smile.
Kiara thought that he had the most fatal smile. Any girl would fall in love with him if he flashes them a smile and look at them with innocent eyes. But she was not the type to have time to fall in love and ruin her studies. She wanted to be successful and have her own business.
Over the next few weeks they were always sticking together, sometimes in the library or during lecture and would often meet in the canteen. Kiara was helping him to study and this was making almost all the girls in the university jealous as she was always beside him.
Kiara knew that she was not that much beautiful. She had a fair complexion with green eyes and long brown hairs. She was neither slim nor fat. She had an average rate and never thought of dieting as she believed it was a waste of time. Her spectacles made her look boring.
She began to know Jordan better and to understand that he was not a bad person. He was caring and selfless. Even he wanted to have his own business someday.
One Saturday morning, Jordan asked her if she wanted to go for a stroll in the park. She accepted and soon they were enjoying the spectacular scenery that surrounded them.
"I've never been on this trail before", Kiara said.
" I think you're going to enjoy it!"
They were approaching a sharp curve in the path. As they rounded it, Kiara stopped, stunned. In the middle of the path was a hand-painted wooden sign.
"I LOVE YOU KIARA. WILL YOU MARRY ME?".
Kiara's heart began to beat faster. She turned to Jordan, speechless.
He held her hands and asked, "Will you?".
