"Jaebum!" I called as I tried to catch his attention with my free hand, he chuckled and rushed over, "Hey" he looked kind of amused by the situation which, by the way, wasn't that much fun. At all.

"Is he drunk?" He raised an eyebrow.
"Duh!" I deadpanned, "He is as sober as Yugyeom- Now could you remove him from me because he is a little on the heavier side," Jinyoung is very lean but he is very tall, and unfortunately I am rather weak as person.
My brother chuckled again although I saw nothing funny in this whole thing, after a little thought he finally flung Jinyoung's free arm around his shoulders and took him away from me.
"Thanks," I hugged.
Without a word he took Jinyoung to the car.
I could still smell Jinyoung's scent mixed with his cologne and alcohol, it wasn't exactly the best smell ever, but somehow it was calming, it was a familiar smell mixed with something more mature.

Somewhere I heard Sky calling for me but with all the music blasting and people screaming, it took me a good 10 minutes to figure out where she was.
I knew this was not going to be some ordinary Barbecue or something, and I just let them fool me like this.

"Mark has been looking for you for a while, did he find you?" She asks, I shake my head, "Did he tell you why?"
"No he just told me he needed to talk to you, don't ask me what it is about though" she raised her shoulders.

I looked around for Mark, unfortunately I am not very good at spotting things, needless to say finding someone but this time he found me first and tapped on my shoulder.
"We need to talk" I couldn't hear him, but through his lips and his expression I understood everything, it seemed like it was something serious so I followed him to a less chaotic place: a dozen meters away from the party, the music was just a weak bass noise.

"My parents said they had some urgent business and took a flight a couple of minutes ago," he showed me the message from his mom, I hummed.
What do I have to say? Nothing right?

The sea breeze was refreshing, it was so calming and the sound of the waves crashing onto water and on the rocks was like a lullaby, everything seemed to relax my body and my nerves.
None of us spoke, he stood next to me as we walked a few steps along the beach.

"We agreed to make Jinyoung jealous so I'll comply with it as you complied with your end of the agreement," he kicked a pebble that rolled into sea water, I hummed again.

Somehow I liked this side of Mark. Yes, he can be annoying, and I hate it when he acts all cocky in front of other girls, but when it's just the two of us he's so nice that I forget everything else.

We slowly made out way back to the party which was getting more and more crowded.
The music was playing louder than ever before: people dancing, drinking and screaming everywhere, someone was smoking, some were making out, other were just passed out between some strangers.

I started to feel dizzy.
After all I had been out all day, stressing here and there, and at night it was a little chilly compared to daytime, so maybe I caught a cold.

I pushed away all these thoughts and made my way in the crowd when the lights on top of the stage started spinning, slowly at first but then faster and faster.
Voices were muffled at some points but then suddenly too loud for me to bear them.
"Wait!" I called faintly and then everything blacked out.

Author's POV

"She opened her eyes!" Jaebum jumped from the seat and quickly moved closer to the bed.

Cecilia was half asleep and nothing made sense to her: first of all, that was not her room.

The unfamiliar smell of medicines and chlorine water filled her nostrils, her head felt as a rock keeping her down on the pillow.
"Call the nurse" her brother ordered someone, "Are you ok?"
His worried pupils were going left and right, up and down, restless, trying to catch a single hint of his sister's condition.

The nurse came in soon after, "you hit your head last night, so it may hurt a little now, but worry not and rest well," she smiled, "I called the doctor, he will give you all the details, please wait here a moment," aha added before exiting the room and closing the door behind her.

Now Cecilia was a little more back to her senses, she looked around slowly: Sky and Mark were standing near the window, backs on the wall and watching Cecilia, they didn't want to crowd around her, afraid of making her anxious.

At this point Sky took a few steps forewarn and was now standing on Cecilia's right side, "Do you need anything?" She caressed her sick friend's head, "Water," Cecilia's voice came out cracked and dry.

Mark stood there, though he tried to look calm and collected, but the look in his eyes betrayed him.

Silence filled the room as Cecilia snuggled more into the thin covers of the hospital bed, seconds later the doctor came in: a gentle looking man, in his late 30s probably, holding the results of her blood test.
"Good morning everyone," he beamed, "It's nothing serious, you shall not worry, she just hit her head when she fainted and she has to wear those bandages around her head for a couple of days, then we're going to change it and put some other ointments, a couple more days with the bandages and she's as good as new!"
He clasped his hands together before kindly inviting Jaebum to follow him in order to book an appointment for the next time, now Mark and Cecilia were left alone in that light blue room.

"Are you tired?" Mark asked all of a sudden, Cecilia shook her head in response, too tired to even speak.
Mark nodded and hummed, it was incredibly awkward to him: he never knew how to comfort people.
"What a nice view huh?" He turned his body to the window and looked outside: the hospital they were taken to was a smaller division of the central one that is a little further from the center.

The room was filled with 6 beds in total but all of them were empty, except Cecilia's.
Undrawn curtains divided the beds for some privacy, each small section was equipped with a small wooden table, obviously a bed and one or two chairs stolen from the other compartments of the room.
Two big windows were installed on the wall opposite the door, they let in a warm and cozy sunlight.

"I'm here with the water- it's like a maze, I got lost while going down to the main hall where all the vending machines are!" Sky panted as she settled the bottle of water next to Cecilia.
"Luckily I saw Jaebum outside or I would have been running around looking for your room!"
Yes, Sky is the rather dramatic friend of the group that gets lost easily.

Mark silently walked to the bed and opened the bottle of water, setting the tap on the bedside table and handing Cecilia the opened bottle, Sky read the atmosphere and quickly excused herself saying that she needed to use the restroom.
This time Mark caressed Cecilia's head, tucking a few strand of her hair behind her ear.
Needless to say that her face heated up, luckily she was very pale to begin with, so her face just turned a little more lively.
He stared into her eyes, she thought as if he could see through her soul and maybe even her body and see the wall behind her.
She gulped nervously and broke the stare contest, "I really needed some water!"

He giggled noticing her ears turning red, those ears always betrayed the rest of her face.

Cecilia heard pounding and for a good minute she thought it was again her head, but then noticed it was her racing heart.
Lately Mark made her feel all sorts of feelings and she couldn't really grasp what that was: anger? Happiness? Loneliness? Jealousy?

"Do you want to hear a story?" Mark asked all of a sudden noticing the cute cover of a fairytale book in the bottom compartment of the bedside table.
"Sure," she laid back and closed her eyes waiting for Mark to start reading: he had a very deep and calming voice and honestly, she never heard him reading anything.
