Chapter 17:

“What the hell Paige?! What are you talking about?!” He says to me angrily.

“Please Asher, let me explain!” I’m crying right now.

“No! I’ve seen and heard enough! I don’t need any more of your fucking explanation!”

“Why are you doing this to me?!” I just can’t take this anymore!

“No! Why are you doing this to me?! Why don’t you want me to be happy?!”I could feel the sadness in his voice.

“You don’t know how much I wanted you to be happy, Asher! You know that!” Please let me explain!

“Well, what you’re doing to me right now won’t make me happy. You’re making me disappointed at you.”

“I’m sorry.” That’s all I could say.

“I don’t want to hear any of this nonsense anymore. Don’t apologize to me. Apologize to Lorraine. You’ve caused enough. I’m done with you.”

     With that, he leaves the room, with me on the floor crying my heart out. God, I really fucked up this time!

“Paige, Paige? Wake up!” I flutter my eyes open.

“Sounds like you had a nice sleep huh?” Tanya asks.

“Oh, I did alright!” Note the hint of sarcasm.  That was one hella of a damn dream. I thought it was real, ‘cause it feels like it!

     I’m here at the library… again. Haven’t you noticed that I’m always here? Yeah, I need to study really hard to maintain my grades. I would go crazy if I get a B-.

“You can study later Paige, but now you need to eat.” Asher says. But I’m tired! Not to mention lazy to get up!

“C’mon girl! They’re serving Panini.” My eyes lit up, but after a second I continue to lay my face on the table. I feel like sleeping right now. I need to take a break from school stuff yada-yada… not to mention the stress that Lorraine is giving me right now. Sshh, she doesn’t know! But yeah, it’s her fault why I’m being like this right now, a lazy ass.

“Nah, you guys can go. I’m going to be fine in here. Besides, I have other things to do. ”  

“What?! You’re turning down Panini? Shame on you! I thought you liked them!” Stacy says with disbelief on her tone. I smiled at her, sometimes she can be clueless.

“Of course I like Panini! I’m just tired to get up and walk!”

“Or too lazy to get your ass of your seat!” Tanya butts in. Yeah, you guys really know me!

“Oh come here you little lazy ass.” Asher uses his cute smile and cute voice on me, but that will do no work for me right now.

“Whaaattt?!” I use my annoying tone. Hahaha.

“I’m just going to say to get your lazy ass up here and I’ll give you a piggy back ride on the way to the cafeteria.” Aaww, that’s sweet.

“Really, you would?”

“Yeah, he would.” Tanya butts in again. Haha.

“You’re lucky that he would do anything just to make you eat.” Stacy says. She must be making me feel guilty right now, and it’s working!

     The smell of him engulfs me real good.

“Yes, I know.” I smile at Asher, but I’m not sure, I think I felt a pang on my chest, maybe because I haven’t told him yet. Is this considered lying? Ugh, I’m confused! This is making me guilty!
