(A/N) Okay, hate me for posting this late. I'm really sorry! Consider this as my Christmas gift for you guys! I know I don't deserve a comment, or a like but I still hope you do give me some! C'mon it's Christmas! So without further ado, here's chapter 40. Hope you guys like it!
So much has happened this summer. Four more days and I'll be going to New York. Four more days and I'll be away from home, away from my family, friends... and Asher. I can't help but get sad. It'll be my first time being away from home. I feel excited and scared at the same time. Scared because I don't know what kind of people I'll be meeting there. Excited because it'll be a new experience for me.
I finally convinced Asher to go to Yale. It's a good thing he listened to me. I wouldn't take it if he goes with me. He wants to go to Yale, that's why I pushed him through it. I don't want him going just because he wants to be with me. Besides, he promised to visit me once in a while and during Christmas.
"Hey, what are you thinking of?" Asher ask me as he bents down to kiss me on my forehead.
"Nothing much." I smile at him.
He sits beside me and we watch the waves splashing in front of us. Only the swooshing waves can be heard. It's quiet and I like it. He edges his hand to mine, until I feel his fingertips brush my hand. He slips it around mine until I could feel the heat of his palm pressed against mine. He squeezes my hand, and I squeeze it tighter. I will miss this.
"Aren't you feeling cold?" he asks me once again while his thumb brushes my hand up and down. This simple gesture makes me shiver which made him chuckle.
"Here." then he drapes a quilt on both of us.
"I can't believe we'll eventually part after eighteen years." I say.
"I told you, I'll visit when there's time." he tries to assure me. I lay my head on his shoulder while his hand snakes around my waist.
"We only have four days left." I whisper.
"And we'll make the most out of it." He finishes my sentence.
This would be our last trip before I head to New York. Asher will leave five days after I did. He's right. We really need to make the most out of it. No more dramas... just us. There wouldn't be any problem with our parents 'cause they could go whenever they'd feel like, but as for us, we couldn't.
"Don't you dare replace me when you get there." I threatened him jokingly.
"Who said I'd do that?" He faces me, "I'll beat the shit out of you, you know." I threatened him once again.
He cups my face and looks directly into my eyes. Blue eyes to gray, "You know I would never do that. You're the most beautiful girl I've ever seen." he kisses me on the tip of my nose. This simple gesture is making me crazy. I blush scarlet.
"Hey you lovebirds! Stop it already." I hear Stacy's loud mocking voice. My cheeks heat up again. He chuckles beside me and stands up, "C'mon, food's ready." He reaches for my hands, pulls me up, and we head to the house.
I could hear the boys' loud voices just before we enter the house. They're acting like three-year-olds and it's kind of funny. The boys cook while the girls prepare. Now I feel bad 'cause I wasn't able to help, "Is there anything more to do?"
"Just slice these for me please." Tanya hands me two small cucumbers and a knife. The smell of the fresh patties being grilled outside hugs my nose.
We proceed to the dining hall and prepared the plates and other utensils. The guys put down the barbecue and burgers on the table. We're ready to eat! It's not much, but you'll enjoy it when eating with friends.
