Aubrey's prov

I could see the sun's rays through my closed eyes it was almost blinding. I rolled my head to the side, my whole back and neck were stiff. Last night I had nowhere to go so my final option was sleeping against a tree, which was much harder than it looked.  My neck seriously ached and I wasn't much thankful for the rain my whole butt and backside were wet while my front was dried other than the only fortunate thing was that the rain fought off the mosquitos. It was moments like this that I regretted taking my cozy warm bed for granted. I really missed my morning cup of coffee.

The trees around me were mostly quiet other that a few birds her and there, but nothing seemed familiar from yesterday. I knew for sure that Luca was going to be beyond mad, mad was an understatement he was probably furious. 

"ugh! why did I come here in the first place?" I asked myself.

" Because your dumb, foolish and an extreme idio-" before I could answer my previous question I felt someone tap my shoulder.

 Oh, shit! who was it? 

I was about to make a run for it, but the person's voice stopped me 

"Miss?" spoke what seemed to be a childs voice.

I took a deep breath and turned around...

I found myself staring into dark brown eyes, the boy came up to my shoulder. He looked around 12. Wait! What was this kid doing out here?

"Are you lost, What are you doing here?" I Asked him.

"well, Hello to you too." He held out a hand and introduced himself. " I'm Noah," 

I cautiously took his hand shaking it. "I'm Aubrey. You still haven't answered my question, what are you doing in the middle of the forest?" I asked and his smile faded. He walked over to a tree log and sat.

Did I say something wrong?

 I followed and took a seat beside him. Moments of silence passed and neither of us spoke.

I heard him take a deep breath before his voice took over the silence. "My pack was taken over." He continued..."One of the packs, they burned down my pack territory. I wasn't in the territory when it all happened and when I came back they were all gone. there were some burned bodies, but most of them got away." He looked up to meet my eyes and I saw tears running down his face. "I've been looking for them for days and I can't my dad and mom's bodies were there. I think my sister got away she's 3 and very smart, I'm trying to find her, but I crossed your territory by accident. your pack is after me. I'm the rogue there looking for if they find me I'm dead." I was shocked. This was the rogue?  It never really crossed my mind. He was sobbing now. He was scared and I didn't know what to do so I wrapped my arms around him and he sobbed louder. 

"I'm sure your sister's okay, I'll help you look for her, and Luca's pack won't hurt you. I'm his mate, I'll make him understand your not a threat." I assured him, but I really didn't know if I would be able to keep my word. 

We sat there for who know's how long. Noah pulled away and sniffled, his eyes were red and puffy from all that crying. I couldn't imagine what this kid was going through, losing his parents.

"So what are you doing here?" He asked me.

I chuckled softly. "well...long story short I'm kind of lost. I went after my mate and I lost my way." I felt embarrassed telling this kid how stupid I was.

"So, use your werewolf senses and find your way out." His face held a confused look, He thought that I was a werewolf?

"I'm human." my response was simple, but Noah's eye's widened.

"really?!" He exclaimed. I nodded.

" I'll help you find your packhouse." He stood up and grabbed my hand. I smiled.

We started walking and what Noah said next left me shocked.

"You're really beautiful, too bad you have a mate." I let out a gasp and I was sure that my face was beet red.

I could see the packhouse ahead and people were scattered everywhere. We walked towards the house and in the distance, I saw Adone. What was he doing here?

As I approached him I saw people gathering around me and Noah. They must have sensed that he was the rogue.

I stood in front of him protectingly.

Adone stepped forward and went to grab Noah, but I blocked him. "don't touch him." I hissed, but he pushed me aside and grabbed hold of Noah's arm, he dragged him to the field, pushing him down. Noah fell and a groan escaped his mouth.

"Adone! Stop!" I screamed. Out of the corner, Luca approached us. He looked tired and exhausted.

"Luca?" I whispered. He looked over at me with relief in his eyes, but it was soon replaced with anger when he saw Noah. he walked past me and made his way over to him. 

"Luca, Adone, what are you doing?" I tried to run over to him, but two of the guards stopped me.

"Luca stop, don't hurt him. He's just a kid. He didn't do anything." I try explaining to him. He turns around; face blinded with rage.

"A kid, oh really and what is this kid doing with-"

Noah's voice cut of Luca "Sir it wasn't like that, I was only helping her get back-" I gasped as Luca slapped Noah in the face. sending him flying. I gasped.

"You only speak when you're spoken to! Understand?!

 Luca turned towards me and his face softened at the sight of me.

I felt the tears rolling down my cheeks, I was crying, but they were tears of rage, rage that mad me shake, rage that heated my face. He walked over to me and went to wipe my face, but I slapped his hand away. 

Ripping away from the guards I walked over to Noah and lifted him up off the ground. A huge handprint marked his face. I felt as if I failed him I broke his promise of being safe and that tore me on the inside.

I grabbed his wrist and started walked towards the forest as I passed Luca I sent him the deadliest glare anyone can send. How dare he? He slapped an innocent child. I Knew this was a mistake. I shouldn't have given him a chance.

I walked towards the packhouse with Noah by my side. I was leaving. 

"Aubrey! Stop, Wait."Luca yelled. I felt a hand grab my arm and spin me around.
