The matron gave me some tea to help with the nausea, the same as when I was pregnant with the twins. According to everything she could observe, I was a little over a month pregnant which meant my birthday was most likely the conception date. What's with us and birthdays? I questioned myself sarcastically. Once we thanked her and she had given us all we needed, we took the babies up to our chambers, both silently basking in our..., luck. It was completely uncanny that I would get pregnant a little over a month past the time I got pregnant last time.Once we were in our chambers, Harry and I set the babies in their room, laughing when they made their attempts to talk. They had gotten in the habit of saying little things like "Ma-ma" of "Ba-ba". We knew they didn't know what they were saying but it was cute that they were trying to get there. Harry headed out of the room but I stayed back for an extra moment, just looking down at our little babies and basking in the glow of more happiness. I grabbed the crystal that was our baby monitor before heading out to see Harry sitting on the couch, waiting for me.
"Well, love, we seem to have a knack for having children." He laughed as I sat next to him. I laughed with him, laying my head on his shoulder.
"Yeah, seems like it." I smiled. I opened my mouth to say something else when a panting Draco and Ron ran into the room.
"What are you daft cows going on about?" Harry chuckled as they fought to catch their breath.
"We-we have a problem." Ron panted.
"Well?" I probed when he didn't continue. They both flopped down in the chairs we had around.
Finally, Draco caught his breath enough to say, "There's been talk going around some of my old chaps about our newest problem. They're talking about using one of the Triwizard Events to get away with making another Horcrux."
"How exactly do they plan on doing that?" I asked, my tone coming out sharper than intended.
"During the Tournament, out in the arena, your protection charms are basically useless because the champions have to be able to use any spell. Your charms are only useless during a competition and at the arena, then they bounce right back. If a person were to get close enough to the action and stay hidden, they could successfully use that opportunity to kill and create the Horcrux." Draco finished. At his explanation of how it was possible, my eyes watered and my stomach rolled, causing bile rise in my mouth.
"Love, calm down. You need to relax before you hurt yourself. We can figure out everything." Harry said soothingly, rubbing the back of my hand. Despite his words, the contents of my stomach pushed forward and, if it hadn't been for Harry's quick hands, I would have thrown up on the carpet but Harry had grabbed a waste basket and held it under my spewing mouth.
"What's going on with Hermione, mate? The last time she was this emotional and throwing up was when she was up the duff." Ron said then his face changed to one of shock. "Blimey, you're having another baby, aren't you?"
"Yeah, Ron. We just found out today that we're expecting again." Harry answered. For a second, I saw a smile lighten both Draco and Ron's faces then it was replaced with determination.
"We have to keep this guy from killing again and getting stronger." Draco said, his voice cold as ice. "There's something we didn't get to tell you..., this guy seems to have a slight obsession with a particular person." He paused. "You, Hermione." He finally sighed and ice went through my veins momentarily before fire set in.
"If he wants me, he can come get me. I will not be intimidated by some snot-nosed wannabe." I growled, anger coursing through me. "At every event from now on, all faculty needs to be on red alert. I'm going to attempt to make my spell work on the arena up until it gets to the actual field. If anybody wants to try to use that pocket, let them be in full view of everybody." I turned to Harry, "What room is right next to us on that side?"
