It was the twenty-nineth of November and it was Saturday. I was all happy and relieved that I had no classes, and that I was taking a day off from the stress that my high school thesis was giving me. That thesis kept too tired and anti-social for almost a month. But anyways, I was resting in short until, mom told me that she was going to a play, well then since I was in love with plays, I started to ask questions about it so that once she get a little bit annoyed she'll just let me go with her.
"What's the title of the play?" I asked being such an enthusiast.
"Cincuenta Y Uno" she said. While I tried to translate that in english since I was never a big fan of such deep tagalog especially if it's in spanish numbers.
"Uhmm... Cincuenta y uno? Please translate, and tell me what's it all about" I just said since I gave up translating and giving myself a hard time.
"Fifty-one. It's about fifty-one 'barbastros' of this seminary who were forced to let go of their vocation and were asked to join the army of people. But they didn't let go so they were tortured killed." She paused.
"Wow! That play sound interesting." I said.
"The songs were originally made by this priest from the seminary, and it was directed by them as well." mom said.
"Can I come and watch with you?" I asked properly.
"Okay." she said.
I got so happy and excited. The play will start at 7:00 PM so maybe we'll be leaving at around 6:00 PM. So as the time passed by, I sticked to my thesis because I had nothing to do. But maybe when it was at around 5:00 PM I went inside my room and dressed up. I wore a simple blue shirt and my gray leggings and then I just brought with me my favorite dark gray jacket.
So while I was waiting for mom to finish getting ready. I thought about what the play would look like, and what would the the stage look like. I thought about a lot of things, and for the first time I wasn't even asking myself about my thesis. After maybe thrity minutes mom was finally finished and we were both ready, we were just waiting for the two priests to come by our house to fetch us, since the play wasn't going to be at the seminary but it a different venue.
The seminary was just a five minute walk from home, but the venue of the place was maybe thirty-minutes away from home. It was raining and and it was already night time mom didn't had the strength to drive anymore if the weather was bad and if she was tired, so that's why we were fetched by the two forators of the seminary.
--------------------------------------------- ON THE WAY TO THE VENUE ---------------------------------------------------
So after maybe thirty-five minutes becasue it was traffic we have finlly arrived. I t was drizzling but it was fine, I brought with my jacket and umbrella so no worries. We had to wait for ten minutes for the play to start, so what we did was we looked for a seat, and we saw a good one. we were on the right side if we were facing the stage.
So as the lights were starting to dim, we knew it was a sign that the play was about to start and that it was time for us to settle down and be quiet.
