17 - The Decision

After reading + hearing the apology letter from Dylan, Louis is sitting in his + Dylan's room and deciding back + forth, back + forth, back + forth, back + forth on what the next step in his relationship with Dylan is going to be. He has a lot of thoughts running through his mind. He grabs his keys + gets in his car + drives off to think.

An hour later.

Dylan gets home from work. He doesn't see Louis' car in the driveway. Maybe it's in the garage. He opens the garage door. Nope. He goes inside the house. (Dylan) Louis, you home? The house is completely silent. There's only one person Louis goes to when they have a fight. His cousin Olivia. He calls Olivia.

Olivia: Hello?

Dylan: Olivia! It's me, Dylan!

Olivia: What is it? I'm busy spending time with Louis' son right now.

Dylan: Wait! Freddie's over there! Freddie's also my son.

Olivia: I know he is but after what you did to my cousin, he's his son.

Dylan: Where is Louis?

Olivia: He's not here. I have no idea where he is. Let me text him.

During the middle of the conversation with Dylan, Olivia texts Louis.

Olivia: Louis, where are you? I'm worried!

Louis responds.

Louis: I'm down by the lake. I need time to think about my relationship with Dylan. I can't keep getting hurt. His apology was so well thought of but I still don't think it's enough to save the relationship between us.

Olivia: He's calling me right in the middle of me playing with Freddie.

Louis: Dylan?!

Olivia: Yes! What do I tell him?

Louis: Don't tell him anything. I just need time.

Olivia: Okay! Please be safe + come home soon.

Louis: I will! I love you cousin!

Olivia: I love you!

Olivia goes back on the phone with Dylan.

Olivia: I know where he is. 

Dylan: Where is he?

Olivia: He told me NOT to tell you!

Dylan: I need my husband home! I want my family back together!

Olivia: Look, I want him home too. He needs to be home with his son.

Dylan: And with his husband. I'm gonna drive around + look for him. And I'm not going home until he's in the car with me.

Olivia: You do realize he drove himself right?

Dylan: Wait what? 

Olivia: Yeah!

Dylan: No wonder his car wasn't home.

Olivia: Go find him and bring him home.

Dylan: I will! Take care of Freddie for me.

Olivia: Of course!

Dylan hangs up. Gets in his car + drives around to find Louis.

4 hours later.

It's getting dark out. He arrives at the lake. He sees Louis' car. He sees someone sitting on the hood of his car. He gets out of the car. Walks to Louis' car and realizes who is sitting on the hood of his car. (Dylan) Louis? Louis turns around + sees Dylan. He gets off the hood of the car, runs + jumps into Dylan's arms. He wraps his legs around Dylan's waist. Dylan spins his husband around. (Dylan + Louis) Oh my god! Louis + Dylan both cry. (Dylan) Let me look at you! Louis plants both of his feet back on the ground. Dylan sees his husband safe + sound + looking in his eyes. (Dylan) You're safe. He touches Louis' cheeks with both of his hands. Louis holds both of his hands. (Louis) I really loved your apology letter. But the reason I did this because I needed time to think about everything. So that's why I didn't text you before I drove. (Dylan) I came home from work. I was looking for you. I couldn't find you. So I called Olivia + she couldn't tell me where you were. So after the phone call, I got in my car + drive around to find you myself. Because all I want is my husband home. Our family back together. (Louis) Freddie's not coming home until tomorrow. (Dylan) I just want you in my arms for the time being. I love you so much. You are my entire world. (Louis) You are my entire world. I just don't wanna get hurt again. Louis looks down on the ground. Dylan starts singing a certain part of "What Makes You Beautiful". (Dylan) The way you smile at the ground, it ain't hard to tell. You don't know, oh oh, you don't know you're beautiful. Oh oh. That's what makes you beautiful. Louis cracks a smile. (Louis) I knew you were gonna do that. (Dylan) I had to. But hey look at me. Louis looks at Dylan with those handsome sea green eyes. (Dylan) You are safe with me. What I did was fucking ridiculous. You didn't deserve that. I promise. I met everything I said in that letter. (Louis) I wanna go home. But that's only if that's still my home. Because I don't know if we're still together. (Dylan) Of course it is still your home + you make me smile from ear to ear + of course we're still together. I'm not letting you leave again because of something I did + I'm still yours no matter what happens but the moment you left, I beat myself up. You are forever mine. (Louis) I am sorry for everything. (Dylan) You don't need to apologize for anything. It's all me. You have done nothing to hurt me. My love, I love you so much. You are my everything + the last thing I wanna do is lose you and what we have. I don't wanna throw our little family away all because of a little fight. If I lose you, then I would lose the best thing that has ever happened to me: my husband, my son + my family. You make me so happy. Freddie makes me happy. Our family makes me happy. I promised to never ever hurt you no matter what happens. I'm sticking to my word. You are my husband forever. I want you + only you. (Mysterious Voice) Louis! They both turn around.
