"Well I'm glad you ran into Peyton," Hanna concluded as she took a sip of her coffee.
"I was wondering if I could take Juliet to meet some of my friends," Peyton began, while smirking at me.
"I don't think that's a good idea," I said quickly, kicking Peyton in the shin under the table. He winced slightly as I returned the smirk with a glare.
"Oh nonsense. That's a great idea, Peyton. I'll wash the dishes. Go have some fun sweetie," Hanna said while starting to clean up the table in the living room.
Peyton and I walked out and once we were a few steps away from my aunt's house, I smacked him in the back of his head. "What friends?" I asked crossly.
"Just some friends," Peyton scowled while rubbing the back of his head. "Not trying to be sexist or anything but all my friends are guys. Most of the girls went to some girl camp."
"Perfectly fine with me. Somehow I find it that I get along better with guys than girls," I confessed. At my school in Iowa, I had only one best friends and his name was Louis. We were the best of friends until he started dating some bleached blonde named Naomi. After that, Louis totally forgot I existed and changed from being normal, quiet Louis to bad boy, jock Louis. The most popular boy in the school. I tried to get along with some of the girls in my grade but I just didn't like all of the shopping, popularity, gossip and whatnot. "So where are we going?" I asked.
"We are going to the skate park. The guys and I like to skateboard and to tricks on our BMX bikes," Peyton explained.
"That's awesome. Stay right here, I'll go get my bike!" I yelled as I ran back to the shack. I came back a few minutes later with my BMX bike.
"You have one of those?" Peyton asked, clearly shocked.
"Sexist much? Of course I have one. My brother got it for me and taught me some pretty cool tricks on this baby. We used to go to the skate park all the time!" I exclaimed happily.
"That's cool. Is your brother here with you now or..?" he asked. I instantly felt tears in my eyes. "Are, are you crying?"
"No I'm not you jerk!" I snapped at him. It wasn't his fault. Peyton didn't know anything about me or my past and he didn't have to worry about that stuff. "Sorry I snapped at you. No, my brother isn't here. But I miss him so much," I told Peyton after a few minutes.
"Okay. So anyways we're here. Just try not to flip my friends. I don't want to lose them because some girl kicked their asses," Peyton joked. I laughed slightly as we entered the skate park.
"Hey Peyton! Over here!" yelled some tall blonde dude. He was standing with two of his other buddies.
"Hey Oscar, what's up?" Peyton asked as he neared his friends. I cleared my throat and looked up at Peyton. "Oh right, guys this is Juliet. Juliet this is Oscar, the blonde dude, Paul, the blue eyed guy, and Lucas, the brown haired guy," Peyton said.
"So are you and Peyton dating or what?" Oscar asked in a soft, husky tone that would make girls fall head over heels over him. But I wasn't like most girls. I could tell that Oscar was the player in this group. I know Peyton told me to not flip any of his friends but some guys had to be set straight. I walked up to Oscar and stood on my toes to reach his air. All of the boys were well over six feet.
"Listen dude. Talk to me that way again I will slowly cut your tongue off," I whispered sweetly and I twisted his arm. "Got it?" I asked loudly so that everybody could hear. Oscar winced as I stepped back. "So are we riding or what?" I asked cheerfully. Oscar, Peyton, and Nathan had their own skateboards while Lucas and I had BMX bikes. The guys wanted me to go first. I could tell that they were scared that I'd hurt myself, their faces were creased and their worry lines jumped out. I took my bike and rode it to the top of the small hill and I lifted myself up with one hand on one handle. Then I sat back down on the bike and did a 360* at the bottom of the slope.
