Tess POV
It has been a few weeks since I became Freds girlfriend. Everything has been going great so far, and school hasn't been that difficult.
I was currently in potions and Snape wouldn't stop glaring at me. If you thought his hatred for Harry was bad, his for me was worse.
I never knew why. I always got good grades, and I liked potions. I had finished work and was sitting there doodling when I heard his voice.
"Well if it isn't Miss. Dudley who is too good for the work" he drawled.
I just glared and turned back to my drawings. As he walked away only I could hear him mutter "just like her father, she is".
So my father has something to do with it.
I never knew my father, apparently he left my mother and I when I was very little.
When Snapey dismissed the class I made a beeline for the library.
I went to the sections where they had student records.
I looked for my name and found this:
Name: Teresa May Dudley (Black)
DOB: July 29th, 1978
Hair color: Dark brown
Eye color: Green and blue
Blood status: Pure Blood
Wand: 10 1/2 inch Dragon Heartstring
Parents: Cathy Dudley and Sirius Black
Godparents: Remus Lupin and Molly Weasley
And I stopped there. This isn't happening. I wait 15 years to find out who my father is, and I find out he's a convicted murderer. And my godfather is my DADA professor?
This can't be right! This can't be.
I quickly shoved the book back and picked up my things before running out of the library.
I knocked as hard as I could on the door before it was opened.
"Miss Dudley? Whats wrong?" Lupin asked.
It was then I realized I was crying. I just pushed past my 'godfather' into his office before dropping my stuff and pacing.
Lupin started making some tea and giving me a few minutes. It was then I realized I wanted Dumbledore here for this. I quickly conjured a patronus and said "lupins office. NOW" before sending it off.
"Was that a patronus?" Lupin asked, visibly shocked and impressed. I could only nod.
Right then the door swung open and Dumbledore strolled in.
"You called for me, Miss. Dudley? I have a feeling I know what this is about" he said very calm.
"You-" I pointed to Lupin "him?" I turned to Dumbledore.
He only nodded.
"Can someone explain, please?" Lupin asked.
"You don't know?" I asked looking at him then Dumbledore in turn.
I sat down and put my head in my hands.
"Professor, it seems that my last name isnt Dudley" I said and then looked at Lupin.
He just looked at me quizzically with an eyebrow raised.
"It appears my name is Tess Black... And you're my godfather" I concluded.
Lupin dropped his cup, looked at me then Dumbledore and back again.
"Albus...this cant be...surely she isn't...no..." He said in complete shock.
Dumbledore meerly nodded, excused himself, and left.
Remus and I looked at each other before he stood, tears visible in his eyes, stood before me and pulled me to my feet, all before enveloping me in a giant hug.
I wrapped my arms tightly around him while he whispered over and over, "its you...its really you...".
After this episode we sat down and caught up on well, life. He talked to me about my father and their friendship and their adventures at hogwarts.
When he mentioned Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs I gasped very loudly.
"What?" He asked "What's wrong?"
"No way!!! Youre Moomy, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs?!" I asked.
"Yes we are, or were. I was Moony, Peter Wormtail, your father Padfoot and James Prongs" he told me.
I stared gap mouthed at him for a few minutes before, "YOU!! YOU WROTE THE MAP!?! THE MARAUDERS MAP!?" I nearly screamed.
Moony only grinned and leant back in his chair before saying "So you know of the map". I explained how the twins and I got it and now Harry has it.
"How did you get the nicknames?" I asked him.
He sighed before saying, "I don't want you to not trust me or think of me differently because of this. I am a warewolf. I was bitten when I was young. Professor Dumbledore knew this, and built the Shrieking Shack for me to transform in once a month. Then they proceeded to plant the Whomping Willow above the entrance so no one could come about me as a wolf. My friends finally figured this out and became anamagi so they could come with me and still be safe. Peter was a rat, James a Stag, and your father a large dog" he concluded.
I sat there shocked and had this all sink in. I looked at him and went, "you're a warewolf?! THATS SO COOL!!".
He chuckled and was about to say something when the door burst open and McGonagall came in saying,
"Remus, Sirius Black wa-" she began but stopped when she saw me. Miss. Dudley you need to get to the great Hall immediately. Remus you need to come with me".
I shot a look at my godfather before getting up and walking out before backtracking and going, "oh its Black, professor, Tess Black" before strolling to the Great Hall.
I walked in and saw the whole school here before being tackled in a hug.
"Oh Tess you're okay I was so worried I didn't see you after potions and you missed dinner and I thought he had gotten you!" Fred exclaimed.
"Who had gotten me?" I questioned.
"Well Sirius Black of course, he broke into the castle"
After these words I stopped dead. My eyes widened and I started hyperventilating. I made eye contact with Moony across the room and he looked back at ms concerned.
It was true.
My father was here.
