Friday (Prom Day)
Prom is in eleven hours, it starts at seven. Today nearly everyone takes the day off. Some to get last minute dresses or tuxedos, make overs and sometimes just to take the day off. I'm one of the ones to get a last minute dress and a make over. Mum and I are going dress shopping but this time she isn't forcing me to wear anything!

I've also told Tia and Tammy that they aren't allowed to come. Brody is also buying a tuxedo today and we are going out in a bit to decide the colours. Our school says that people who are going together should come in the same colour. Obviously most people and couples do that anyway but we don't have much of a choice. It doesn't bother me because I thinks it's nice to look good with your couple.
"Tara! Brody is here I hope you're ready!" My Mum shouts from downstairs over the sound of Toby wailing.
Grabbing my phone which shows the time is quarter past eight I rush down stairs. My Mum is dropping Toby off at his baby sitters house and meeting me at ten to go shopping.

Glancing into the hallway mirror I give myself one last check over and meet Brody at the door.
"Hey beautiful. Come on let's get going." Brody reaches for my hand and I don't even think about it before I put my hand in his. We say bye to my mum and get in his car. At first the car journey is quiet with only the radio playing.
Then Brody says "So, you excited for prom? It's the last one in senior school."
I've never cared much for school dances so this one doesn't make a lot of s difference. It is my last one thought. "Yeah I'm excited sort of. I mean I love parties and dances but not ones school throws. But you're right it is the last one so I'll enjoy it."

He takes a left turn and he looks at me then back at the road. "Plus you have a very handsome and stunning date."
I look down at my fingers and smile. His right I do have a great date to the prom, but I wish he were more than just a date.
"So I'm not going with you then? Cause you aren't stunning or handsome." I say just as we pull up outside of the shopping centre. He glares at me then his lip starts to quiver. Brody is pretending to cry! Man he is such a big baby.
"Well. I see how it is then. I thought you loved me Tara!" He fake sniffles.
What have I got my self into now. Getting out the car I walk round to his door and lean on the window. This soon makes home move. He yanks his seatbelt off and pushes me off by opening the car door.
"Hey hey hey! You know I don't like people in the windows." He grabs my waist and pulls me towards him. I flash my puppy eyes at him, which just makes him roll his eyes. "Tara you know that doesn't work on me. Especially with you. I know all your evil secrets."
Excuse me I'm a good girl. What does he think he is talking about?!
Pushing away from him, I grab his hand and pull him towards to closest Costa. "Oh shut up you. Come one in starving."

12:00 - seven hours till prom

Mum and I have been shopping for two hours now and I've only bought a pair of black heels and the same pair in white (just in case I get a light coloured dress). There have been a few dresses I've seen and really liked but they've either been quite expensive or too big or too small. I don't have enough time to get it altered. It has to be perfect.
Mum has decided that we are going to go in the wedding dress shop. She said that the more colourful dresses in there are the least popular so they are quite cheap. Which is great because I don't want mum to spend too much money on me. Just as we walk into Diana's Dresses my phone buzzes.
Brody 💙😂: Hey beautiful. Have u got a dress yet? Xx
Me: No! 😭 but we are just going into the last shop. Hoping it'll be in here. What about u? Xx
Brody 💙😂: Yeah I've got my tux now. I just need to buy a tie the same colour of ur dress xx
Me: I'll pick one up for you don't worry. See you soon xx
Brody 💙😂: ok thanks xx
