Me and Dan had always been really close growing up. He was a great big brother and didn't treat me like a little kid. When his YouTube career kicked off, I'd just left Uni and was looking for somewhere to live. I'd met Phil before and when Dan asked if I wanted to move in with them I jumped at the chance. Though I'd never told him, I didn't really want him to move to London. Even as we got older we were still close. So yeah, I've been living with them ever since. They've never pressured me to appear in their videos or meet any of their YouTube friends which I've been grateful for. I always get very anxious when meeting new people and find it hard to get close to people due to stuff that happened to me back in school and I'm always worried they'll only prentend to like me just because Dan is my brother. So I got a job as a riding instructor at a local riding school. Very hard to find one in central London. I've always had a passion for horse's and the fact that I can get paid to be surronded by something I love is amazing. I also have quite the knack for editing videos, Dan and Phil have got me to do this on several occasions especially when they are getting ready to go for a meetup or to and event or most recently their book tour. Tonight was their book launch party. Lots of their friends were going to be there like Zoe, Alife, Marcus, Jim and Tanya, most of the YouTube crowd. And I was going. I'd made the decision that I wanted to meet them.
"Charlie! Rosie and Lorna are here!"
I bounced down the stairs and ran straight to the front door, leaping into the arms of the girls on the doorstep.
"Lets get you ready for this party."Rosie and Lorna are my best friends. I've known Rosie for 16 years. We met back in school when we were 6 and to this day we've never argued. Lorna I've known since I was 12 when we met through a volunteer job I was doing at a riding centre. We've all been inseparable even when I was at Uni, Rosie was traveling, writing her book and Lorna was competing in dressage around the country, we still kept in touch. They knew about Dan (obviously) and they were totally cool with it. Now they were here to help me get ready for this night. We entered my jungle of a room, me first, kicking a path through the rubbish littering the floor. I sat down at my dressing table and the girls stood either side of my.
"Right, what are we going to do with this mess" I said, gesturing to my face.Over the next hour, Rosie and Lorna transform my mop of frizzy, shoulder length, ash blonde hair into a neat fishtail braid instead of something that looks like the rear end of a chicken. My lips have been painted red and my eyes lined black. I'm dressed in a skater-style red dress and black heels. I walk into the living room where the boys were enjoying a game of Scrabble (one minute Mario Kart the next Scrabble?!?) Both of them look up, hearing my heels clicking on the floor. Phil's jaw dropped. Dan looked over at him, smirked and whistled.
"Phil, shut your mouth, you'll catch flies," I said laughing. "And shouldn't you guys get ready? We're leaving in about half an hour."
"Why? Whats wrong with what we're wearing?" Dan says, a look of mock hurt on his face.
I look at them both. Phil in his Lion onzie and Dan in his Pokémon T-shirt. Dan went off to his room while Phil stood there still
"But this was what I was going to wear."
I burst out laughing.
