As soon as we pulled up at the venue, I felt butterflies in my stomach. I was going to meet the YouTube crew.
"Don't stress Char, you'll be fine." Phil said, wrapping his arm round me. I loved Phil, he was just like a second big brother.
Dan came over and linked arms with me, Phil doing the same.
"Shall we?" They both flashed goofy smiles.
"Yep, lets do this."
We walked in and the whole room went quiet, all heads turned our way. I saw faces that I'd watched on screens for years: Zoe Sugg, Alfie Deyes, Tanya Burr, Marcus Butler, Jim Chapman, Joe Sugg and Caspar Lee. There were so many more I couldn't even tell you all their names. Dan and Phil walked over to the main huddle of people.
"Dan, what did I tell you about bringing poor, innocent girls to events like this" Joe said, laughing and waggling his eyebrows.
"Haha funny," Dan replied smiling. "This is my kid sister Charlie."
Zoe, Tanya, Louise and Niomi came rushing over, engulfing me in a hug.
"Hi! Oh my god we had no idea Dan had a sister!"
"Your dress is so beautiful, and those heels!"
"So, do you make YouTube videos? Well I guess not because otherwise you'd have been in Dan's."
"Where do you live? Do you live with those two?"
I was stunned by their interest in me, I hadn't even spoken yet they were all so excited to learn about me.
"Um, hi. I er don't make videos and I erm live with those two and thank you."
Zoe wrapped her arm round my shoulder.
"Sorry Charlie, we didn't mean to bombard you with questions."
She said smiling sweetly.
Joe and Caspar came over then.
"Are you terrorising Miss Howell?" Caspar said, while Joe hugged me from behind.
"And anyway, why are you standing around in here, theres a pool outside c'mon!" Joe threw me over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes and started running towards the doors, me laughing the entire way.
"Joseph Sugg if you dare chuck me in this pool I swear t-"
I was cut off as I hit the icy cold water, coming up for air I shouted.
"You've messed with the wrong girl Sugg." And with that, I hauled myself out of the pool and started chasing him. After about 4 laps of the pool I finally caught up with him and managed to push him in. Caspar started laughing so I shoved him in too. Someone plugged their phone into the outdoor speakers and soon we were all dancing. I never wanted the night to end, but unfortunately it did. We all said our goodbyes, I got most people's numbers, then me, Dan and Phil headed home. I collapsed on my bed and smiled, I'd made new friends and they weren't just pretending to like me because of my internet famous brother.
