Cuts Run Deep

Chapter 1

"Wake up!" A faint voice exclaimed while shaking me rapidly.

"Wake up damnnit Wake up!" The voice grew louder and the shaking more violent.

I finally awoke and looked at my surroundings and found I was in what looked like a fenced in box. Turning around was difficult considering I was going up like in an elevator but much faster. I looked to my right to see a brunette boy with hazel-ish Brown eyes wearing a grey long-Sleeve with a panicked look on his face.

"Thomas?" I asked his eyes widened and nodded

"Raven?" He asked and I nodded.

I remembered him from somewhere but I guess we knew each other. He yelled my name once again and as we were propped up on our knees he took me by the waist and pulled me in for a hug.

That hug was long until the elevator suddenly stopped and we both got jerked at least a foot from the ground.

We both lay there moaning from our hit with the ceiling. The doors above us began to open and once all the way open there stood a tall blonde boy along with a blonde girl and what looked like fourteen other boys just above them.

There where another set of doors to the actual shaft and the boy began trying to open it.

"Hold on we're going to get you two out." The boy says in an irresistible British accent.

"Uh oh..." the boy says "It's stuck, guys help before it goes back down!" The boy yells and all the men including the girl began pulling on both sides of the gates. They open the slightest bit and they all yell for me to crawl through the small space. I couldn't fit but Thomas had the brilliant idea to push on the gates so I stood in one of the notches in the of the shaft and pushed as did Thomas but on the right side.

We pushed and pushed we all finally gave it our all and pulled and pushed. The gate jerked open and I went flying onto the blonde boy.

He and I coughed separate ways and we looked at each other. I was planted right on top of him as my hair hung down beside his head.

"Hey, my name's Newt what's yours Greenie?" Newt asked me in a low tone

"I'm Raven nice to meet you Newt." I say in the same tone. The boys beside us begin whistling and howling like dogs. I look over to see Thomas on his forearms hovering above the blonde girl.

My eyes meet hers and she just glares at me. "Excuse me sir do you mind getting off!" The girl yells eyes still fixed on me.

Thomas scrambles off and stands up to give a hand out to the girl, she takes it and motions me off of Newt. I stand next to Thomas watching as Newt props up to his feet.

"Well Greenies tell us your names." Newt says folding his arms.

"I'm Thomas." Thomas says loud enough for everyone to hear.

"I'm Raven" I say a bit shy but loud enough.

"Nice to meet you crow, I'm Jordyn."

"It's Raven." I correct her and glare.at.her

"Yeah like that sounds any better." Jordyn responds with a bratty smirk. Followed by oo's from the boys beside us.

"Alright you two that's enough. Raven, Thomas follow me there is someone who would like to see you." Newt says and motions us to follow, along with Jordyn.

We finally reach a building much taller than the rest and someone comes out of it.

"Hello, I'm the leader if the Gladers my name is Alby." Alby introduces. "You must be Thomas." Alby walks a few steps over to Thomas and shakes his hand firmly.
"And you are Raven." Alby takes my hand and kisses it like I'm a princess. I nod shyly and I feel my face go red.

"Okay you two follow me, Newt, Jordyn well done." They both nodded and walked off together.

We reach the top and we all sit in handmade wooden chairs that were quite comfortable. We talk about everything in the Glade, What everyone does and things like that.

Once we were done Alby called Newt back to take us to our rooms.
Newt showed me my room and helped me get settled in he wished me a goodnight and left. I found some clothes in a closet across the room I put on some booty shorts and a baggy tank-top that I was literally swimming in.

I finally flopped on the bed and lay there until my eyes couldn't bare it.
