It was finally time to start walking around. Gally came into the room and handed me handmade cruches that surprisingly worked, but I really couldn't tell if he was excited or really scared, his eyebrows kept giving me mixed signals.
I stood in front of the door as Newt rushed to open the door Thomas stood on my right side, and Jordyn stood on my left, Newt next to Jordyn, and Gally next to Thomas.
As the door swung open everyone stopped working and looked up. I heard a boy yell "RAVEN'S BACK!" And they all ran to me.
Thomas stepped in front of me and put a hand out to stop them knowing I couldn't be hugged tight. One of the boys stopped so hard he fell forward flat on his face.
Mihno stepped out along side Alby. Mihno, was right across from Jordyn, and Alby straight in front of Thomas then me as Thomas stepped back to where he was before.
Alby smiled and just looked at me. In the corner of my eye I see Mihno looking at Jordyn as she looker down rubbing her arm.
I quickly drew my attention back to Alby who was still smiling.
"Raven, you not only killed a Griever, but you survived two days of death, with a broken leg, and post half your body's blood, and today you are waldling around like nothing happened." Alby finished and looks around at everyone.
"Everybody, I have a question I must ask of Raven." Alby says putting his arms in the air.
I clenched up hoping he didn't want me to be his.
A boy from the back yelled "GET SOME!" and Alby put his hands down and stepped to me.
"I must ask you something in my quarters trust me I'm not gonna do anything." Alby said leading me away to his tall hut.
Once we reached the top we sat down in the same chairs as the beginning, and Ably began talking.
"Okay now listen, Raven I've been thinking and I need a second in charge... and I was thinking, you." Alby finishes and leans back in his chair.
"No..." I said looking down
Alby sat up and leaned forward in his chair.
"What do you mean no..." Alby asks in a confused tone.
"I mean I don't deserve this position, all I did was kill a Griever out of defense, I got a broken leg and was scared as hell, shuck I DIED for two days, none of this was heroic, it was out of self defense and complete idiocy." I say defending my case.
"Alright... I respect that who, who do you think who should take you position?" Alby questioned leaned back in his chair.
"Honestly, Newt..." I say and shrug my shoulders.
He widens his eyes like he was just learned the ABC's.
"Newt... That's perfect he is very,dedicated isn't he?" Alby says and nods his head and smiles.
"Okay tonight at the bonfire celebration you can announce it" Alby said pointing a finger at me.
"Me!? No no no I can't do that I can't public speak that's not okay..." I say standing up forgetting my cruches I turned around and fell.
Alby got up slowly and crouched down to my level in front of me.
"You sure?" Alby asks raising his eyebrows and smiles
I sighed and looked up at him. "Ughh fine... I'll do it." I say as Alby helps me stand and gets my crutches.
We walk down the stairs as Newt walked up to the building.
"Alby, Gally's by the Dead heads with Chuck they need your help with the fire wood for our bonfire tonight." Newt says and Alby winks at me then walks away to the Dead heads.
I look at Newt and try to hold in my smiling.
"What?" Newt asks I shake my head
"Nothing." I say smiling giggling a little bit.
"What!?" Newt asks impatiently.
I keep laughing and crutch my way over to Jorydyn who was just by her hut, sharpening a stick with a knife
"Jordyn I have to tell you something VERY important!" I say and gesture her into the house. I peeked outside to see Newt talking to Thomas.
I quickly close the door and stand right behind the door.
"What's so important I was buisy." Jordyn says sitting on her bed and motioning me to come sit with her.
"Dude, you were sharpening a stick." I say as I crutch over to the bed.
"Wait is it about Newt?" Jordyn asks looking more interested.
"Yep." I say nodding
"What's going on!" Jordyn exclaims scooting closer to me.
"Well it's, you need to know that Alby needed a second in command to help make decisions, so he asked me to be the lucky number two-"
"What does this have to do with Newt?" Jordyns says cutting me off getting impatient.
"Well if you would let me finish, I said no to the offer and so I put Newt up for the job." I finish raising my eyebrows.
"What! Newt's gonna be the lucky number two!" Jordyn yells and starts jumping around the hut excitedly.
I just kept laughing, trying to calm her down.
"The ceremony's tonight." I say as she calms down.
"And I'm the one speaking..."
"Oh, that's gotta suck." Jordyn says looking at me with worry.
"Yeah well, I guess a first timer right." I shrug my shoulders and get up to go outside with Jordyn.
