O, my everpresent Muse,
Who did absent yourself and your words
And left me bereft of my one true trade,
Whose name I did invoke
The Spirit of an Agape,
I bid you graces for your dutiful dominion,
Yet I must deny your place in me again.
Forgive me, Muse, whose true name is written
In Gordian scripts,
I must sever you from my mind at once
Lest my heart give way to what once you held.
I revoke you, Muse, and your besmirching jests,
And the troubles you've set upon the innocents,
The believers and the irredeemed,
The soldiers and the fallen,
The troubadours and me.
I revoke you, Muse, and your Babelic means of
Expiring words of me,
Where once you would inspire.
Though I could never stoop as to despise you,
As enchanted as you've left me so,
My love for you is no more divine as it is
Of Sisyphean mirth, which you partake,
In awkward splendor at my expense,
Persephic in your waning gaze
Where abandon now completes me.
I invoke then, Muse, a new inspiring spirit,
To breathe in me anew where you had left
To drown me, though I resist.
I invoke you then, O Bitter Love, to take root
Where once a bushel grew with Her name.
Bitter Love, O you desperate Ghoul of Regrets,
Show me what it means to rot,
Beautiful purpose in my destruction,
And from my Loam spring forth anew,
Embittered but never to be tasted again.
Show me the meaning in the ashes
Of yesterday,
And make of my windswept tears the rainfall
Of today.
Reveal your name to me, O Boulderous Heart,
Through the prose you burden me with
In the name of healing, of strengthening me.
