CHAPTER 4

"Pain and Regret"

We entered the arena for Rex's first match. They are up against the Maroon Fighters of Dramean Academy. I came with Class Z along with some of our new friends. We sat near the Wolverines and waited

"I hope Rex won't make a fool of himself" Maya sighed

"I'm sure he won't. I mean that guy did serve as the coach for the newbies in highschool" Adam replied

"Yeah. For like a day." I added and we all laughed

"That's so mean, puppy!" I turn to my side and I saw Rex sweating.

"Isn't it too early for you to be sweating?" I asked

"Yeah but I am gonna enter last. So it is okay for now." He gave me a thumbs up. Sadly Maa just punched him on the head "OWW!!! What the hell was that for!?"

"Don't bring our school to shame!" She shouted

"Hmph! Of course!"

"Umm... hi Rex..." I turn to Rex's side and I saw a female fox.

"Hey Anna! Guys, this is Anna, my blockmate! She is the one been taking care of me!" he patted her back

"Umm... it's nothing... Good luck Rex. I... I think you will be... awesome!"

"Thanks Anna! Anyway guys, I need to go now!" But before he left, Anna gave him a hug "Anna?"

"Good luck!" She sat down next to me as Rex left

She looks nice but... why does my heart feel like it's gonna burst? Mabe it's just aching. I gotta stop on those barbecue then. I look at the others and notice that Ivy is looking at me

"W-w-what?" I stagger

"It's nothing... Just don't let go" She said. I wonder?

When I was being in my own world, the match had started

Some time later...

"Hey look! It's Rex!" I shouted "Good luck!"

The match was pretty tight. The scoring so far is 70(Wolverine) and 68(Fighters)

I never did understood basketball but I can tell, Rex is being a leader here. So far for the first few minutes, he keep scoring. I feel like I've fallen for him again

"He's so cool" I turn to Anna

"He is" I replied

"Hey... umm..."

"Ice. Call me Ice" I said

"Umm... Ice... Can I tell you something?" I nodded in her words "The truth is... I L-"

She was cut off from the screaming crowd. I couldn't hear her. Worse thing is, Maya is shouting behind us

"GO GO GO! WOLVERINE GO!!!" I sighed

"What did you say?"

"Umm... n-nothing..."

We continued to watch. At the end, we won by 3 points. 101 to 99. After the match, Me, Maya, Ivy, Felix and Anna went to the locker rooms of the wolverines and waited for Rex.

The others went out but no sign of Rex. We started to worry but he poked his head out the door

"Umm... Anna, Help?"

"S-sure."

"Wait. Aren't there others inside? And besides, it's the boys locker." Felix asked

"I am the only here. And... my things a mess"

Anna entered and we waited once more

After 15 minutes...

"I'm gonna go check. I guess Rex is more trouble for Anna to handle" I said

I entered the door and find something that made my heart clench. They... were... kissing... I stood there... frozen stiff with water in my eyes

"Rex? A-Anna?" I started to cry and they noticed me

"Ice! It's not what you think!" Rex and Anna said in unison

I walked to them and I slapped Rex so herd he fell with a thud

"I thought you... I'm... sorry Rex..." I said

"P-puppy?"

"Don't ever call me that, Coloma!"

I stormed out and I noticed the others are there. I walked passed them and exited the arena. I went somewhere to cool off so I walked to the park.

"That jerk!" I held my tears

I sat on the swing thinking of him... we had a date... went to the beach... to the fair... and we had... sex... and this is what he does!?

I cried as the rain poured, as if I care anymore...
