sorry for such slow updates, still very behind on the writing progress for the last 20 chapters. I'm focusing more on my other writing projects but I obviously still want to finish this book. I'm gonna double update because this chapter and the next are very short.
Thanks for those who stuck around <3

Everything was black. Not like the night sky, as they were rather a dark blue or purple, not pure black. I had never seen anything so black. It was a sky, but ink-colored, and nothing else. In the blackness, I felt like simple matter floating within the void. Where were the buildings? The people? The trees and grass? What was I standing on? Was I floating? Why couldn't I feel anything?
The only other visible element was a pulsating white light. As I looked at it, the brighter it became, and the brighter it became, the more physically ill I felt. Sick and in discomfort; but not pain.
It only lasted for a second, and what replaced the darkness was a complete blur of gold and white. My senses, wherever they had gone, ever so slowly began to come back to me. It felt like hours before I finally opened my eyes, my sight struggling to focus on what was in front of me.
Light poured into my vision, but I stared ahead, waiting for things to become clear. Everything else was numb. It was like I was watching from another entity entirely. It felt like I wasn't even in my own body. Then again, I didn't know where I was. I didn't know what was happening.
The faint sound of a clock ticking registered in my brain. The switch then flipped, finally turning on my brain which was still muddled and confused. Time passed heavily, if time was even a thing where I was now. Though, it seemed the ticking and beeping sounds in the distance let me know I was somewhere on Earth or likewise. Hopefully home.
Home.
Where was home?
At that moment, my vision seemed clear enough to take in a portion of my surroundings. I felt something laying against my cheeks and inserted into my nose, and the sound of a heart monitor became less blurred and more prominent. With heavy eyes, I glanced down to see myself laying in a bed, my body covered with white sheets. My arms laid by my sides, and the left had a needle inserted, connected to some sort of tube that swirled around and out of my sight.
I tried to move my head, but it was like I had suddenly forgotten how to move anything. I couldn't even lift a single finger.
A whimper of panic left my mouth as I forced my brain to put all of its power into moving, but I was frozen still. It was too much. I exhaled lightly and shifted my gaze to the figure on my left, my sight now fully clear.
Black hair. Pale skin. A hoodie that was obviously too big. It was him.
"Y...oo..." I attempted to speak, but my voice was completely fried, my throat dried up and my thoughts a jumbled mess. Yoongi was asleep beside me, his upper body resting on the bed, and his hand beside mine. His head rested against my legs, and he quietly breathed while shifting in his sleep.
I wanted to yell. I wanted to scream that I was awake. That I was here with him. But my voice refused to do so.
Then, I was finally able to lift a finger.
Gathering up my strength, I shifted my finger slightly and tapped the side of his arm twice. No reaction. I tried again with more force, scratching my nail across his skin as hard as I could.
Yoongi mumbled something quietly and sat up, rubbing his eyes and looking at the clock. When he turned to me, his eyes softened and his mouth dropped open before turning into a smile.
