Chapter 15 - You, me and our small world

Thank you for all your support and comments so far in this story. This is the last chapter after Penelope and Colin have reconciled and are living back in their home in Mayfair. It's based on their story post wedding, definitely happy and it will be in different time lapse to portray their lives over time. I hope you enjoy it ^^

Apologies for being so tardy on this chapter. I was very busy for the last few months and did not want to publish a hasty work. The last one had already ended with a happy Polin so it was not really a cliff hanger, otherwise I would have taken some time to publish quicker. I had actually wanted a chapter with only their happy moments in the future after all misunderstandings and issues were finally over.

I also had a very hard year with stuff in my life including my health and I had lost the time and motivation to write and edit the story. Big apologies for those who were waiting for the bonus chapter.

Penelope and Colin had been enjoying their honeymoon, finally, after so many months of hardship and years of Penelope pining for this man. She could proudly declare that the waiting was worthwhile because for the past few weeks she was wondering if someone could ever be as happy as this. She and Colin were finally enjoying some time of marital bliss and happiness after all the turmoil.

Penelope did receive some threatening anonymous letters but she tried not taking them into consideration and she thought by keeping inconspicuous for a while would make the ton think less about her. She managed to get away from the numerous gossiping, too busy to stay with her love instead.

Penelope never felt so loved.

Colin would shower her with love all the time, doting on her and did not leave her sight at all. Well, in other words, she could say whenever she was thinking about him he magically appeared in front of her. She definitely did not feel abandoned or alone at all. Colin had even told her about it, mentioning that if he was not in front of her all she needed to do was think about him and he would appear and he eventually did.

To Penelope sometimes, it all felt like a dream and afraid that it was, she would wake up to check whether Colin was indeed by her side.

After sharing this with Colin, he reassured her more than once that it was nothing but pure reality but the fear was slightly present since after staying alone for so many weeks by herself, mostly in an anxious state, the trauma was somewhat still alive in her soul.

Penelope believed that after a while her fear would disappear just like Colin's nightmares of losing her had already lessened.

One afternoon, as Colin was lying beside her while reading a book on travelling, she felt the baby kick. It had not been the first time but she was always excited about it as it was, mostly if Colin was beside her, she would then tell him about it and make him feel her belly. It had been so many weeks since they returned to their own home and all they were awaiting now was to finally see the face of their baby; the token of their love.

Penelope suddenly let out a yelp and Colin felt alarmed, getting up from his comfortable reading position.

"What happened?! Pen?! Penelope...what is it?"
