-a month later-
I'm currently a mess. I thought I was fine, but I guess not. The money that I had saved, got stolen.
-flashback to the other night: in third person view-
Jalen got home from her work and went straight to bed. It was 11:04 in the evening and she was overworked and sleep deprived after all.
Jalen didn't bother to check if her door was locked and that was her first mistake.
She tiredly climbed into bed and fell fast asleep, it was a Friday night so she didn't have to get up tomorrow, and the funny thing is that she wouldn't get up because she needed sleep.
That's when it happened. A man, about 20 years old tried to break in. Well, he succeeded. He wouldn't have if Jalen just made sure her door was locked.
He, was familiar of this home, as for it was Jalen's ex boyfriend, Kyle. He walked right to where he needed. The stuffed animal sitting on her tv stand. It was a cute pig, now why would he want it? The money.
Kyle was careful not to make any noise as he carefully un Velcro the back side of the pig, revealing about Au$ 3,000. He took the money and left the pig sitting exactly where she wouldn't notice.
Kyle was a very smart man, because by the time Jalen got up, it was 4:00 in the afternoon and she didn't bother to check her pig.
The thing is, Kyle was smart, but he wasn't that smart because Jalen noticed a little scuff on her floor that wasn't there before.
And she knew exactly what had happened. She ran to the pig sitting on her TV stand. And ripped open the Velcro, noticing that the bag consisting of money, was gone.
She fell onto her knees, Jalen was sobbing. She had a lot of money put into that pig... now what?
That's when her phone decided to ring.
Michael: text him...
I replied back with a simple "who?" even though I knew exactly who he was talking about.
Michael: listen, dont play dumb with me. he misses you. a lot actually. he doesn't act like the old calum anymore. he mopes around and stopped eating. it's been almost a month, why won't you text him?
I gasped at the harsh text. It wasn't Mikey's business on why I haven't texted him. He owes me an apology and it's not fair that I have to say sorry anyways. I know I sounded like a three year old, but for real.
Jalen: me? text him? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! why hasn't he bothered to text me, huh? not once have i ignored his text. he doesn't want to talk to me. im sorry im not doing it. he always left the conversation when things got hard. i have other things to worry about. im about to lose my apartment. im sorry but i have to go.
I had felt like I was too harsh on Mikey, but he deserved it. I wasn't going to let him make me feel like I'm the bad one in the situation... I wasn't, was I? I need to stop thinking things like this so I can focus on how I'm going to get my money back, for my apartment. I promised my mum that when I moved I wouldn't let her down.
At that very second, my phone rang.
Michael: im sorry Jalen. i didn't know
I slammed my phone down in anger and decided not to worry about it.
