Y/N went back to her room as she started examining the book Riddle gave her, it had a leather cover and there were ivy strings around the rim as decoration, she flipped through it as well, Hogwart's shadows looming behind her as if examening the book with her. There was nothing fun and painless in the process of separating one's soul. A few years back Y/N was interested in the matter, not because she would do it, but just because forbidden things are more interesting for her, she was putting the book back in her bag when Dumbledore appeared in front of her, the shadows behind her suddenly vanishing. "Oh, professor I was about to come to your office, I wanted to tell you that I am leaving with Rachel for the break this year.'' Y/N as confidently as possible, camouflaging the startle the professor caused. "Well alright Miss Y/N, you gave a merry Christmas and a joyful New year.'' He said smiling, they bid Goodbyes and went opposite ways. Y/N's heart was pounding in her head, all the lying And the truth was eating her alive.

She was reading the book, making notes and packing her bag all at once, not even wanting to connect to reality. A nasty business the horcrux soul separation, she wrote down the key instructions, potions and spells, cringing inside, she didn't want Tom to do this, he was good enough as he was, he didn't need to change anything in himself to achieve greatness. Yes, it wouldn't be the greatness he wanted, but it would be greatness, nonetheless. Once she finished the notes, she left her room to give them to Riddle, before they left the school. "Riddle.'' She knocked on his door, and he pulled it open not even a second later. "Yes?'' he asked coldly, "Notes, I finished.'' She said as she showed him a red notebook and the original book. "So soon?'' He asked a bit of surprise laced his voice. "Yes, the sooner I'm finished the more unnecessary I'll be.'' She replied pushing the notebook to his chest. "Fine, thanks.'' He replied and took a hold of the red suede covers.

Tom closed the door after Y/N left and sat down on the edge of his bed, flipping through the notebook, noticing how neat is Y/N's handwriting, he read the necessary spells and potions, he threw to notebook in his satchel along with another book, he found today in the forbidden section:" When Desire Does Not Obey: Exceptions in Amortentia."

"You know you can talk to me about what worries you.'' Riddle said to Y/N as she was watching the cinematic scene out the train's window, she didn't reply, just looked at him rolling her eyes. "Not that I particularly enjoy your talking, but you need to be on top of what you're doing, no emotions, you have a job you have to do.'' He said harshly, but his features softened, "Talking helps, or so I've heard.'' He mumbled next, guilty for the tone he used. "I'm fine, I am just preparing for Azkaban.'' Y/N said looking back at the window. "No one is taking you to Azkaban, no one will know you have anything to do with this.'' He said rolling his eyes and pulled out her notebook and started reading.

"It's good, good job.'' He said, they were almost at their train stop, Y/N didn't say anything back, just checked her watch and put her silk scarf on. Tom was right, the scarf does match her complexion perfectly, she was truly beautiful in his eyes, though he could never admit that to himself.

"Thank you.'' Y/N said as Tom extended his hand for her to take as she got out of the train. "How far are we?'' she asked as she took her luggage in her hand, "Not far, around the corner basically. Let me take your suitcase.'' He said, his hand brushing against hers as he took her suitcase. "Thank you.'' She said and they went off the platform.

"This is your property?" Y/N asked with her mouth wide open as they stopped at the gate, it was made of metal with the bars looking like bones and spiked at the end of every bar. The lanterns shone dim green, but the manor itself looked like out of a fairytale, with large windows and a tower, even the light snow and stormy evening clouds was helping the aesthetic, she thought.

"Yes, all to myself.'' Tom said annoyed, pushing open the gate and walking through the driveway to the entrance. Y/N was a bit nervous about staying alone with Riddle for whole two weeks but if he wanted to kill her, he already would've done it. "Woah, this manor is beautiful.'' She said as she looked around the foyer, Tom set the suitcases down, "It is.'' He said basically emotionless as he took off his coat and setting it on a hook in the closet, "May I?'' he gestured to her coat, she took it off handing it to him.
