Alone

Chapter 8

"I think she's waking up, shh!", I could hear Lana whispering.

I attempted to open one of my eyes, but someone took a picture making them shut tight almost instantly.

"Oops sorry", James stifled a laugh.

"1..2..3", Lana whispered.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY", I heard a group of people shout.

I opened my right eye and looked around, seeing Oscar, James, Lana and Liam! I sat up a little too quickly and my head went fuzzy. Finally I managed to open both my eyes.

"Oh wow, hey everyone", I managed to say.

I was pushed to the back of the couch when Lana jumped on me giving me a huge hug, which was then joined by Oscar who giggled the whole time, then James,then I think Liam leant on us all too.

"Okay, your all pretty heavy you know", I let out a groggy laugh as they all clambered off me.

"Right so we have all agreed to give you some presents now, and then later you can have the rest at the opening, sound good?", Lana compromised.

"Sure", I tried to hold in the excitement and instead showed a massive grin. I had forgotten about the opening, and wondered whether Jack would be there after our little spat.

Lana had sent Oscar to get what I guessed was a present. He soon returned with a gift bag and card.

"We put all the presents in this bag for you, also a card from each of us", James explained.

"Er my present for you is at home so I'll have to give it you at the party, but I did have the card, which is in there", Liam gestures toward the bag.

"It's fine, I'm happy your here", I beamed at him.

I reached my hand into the bag, which was quite big but not too big. I finally gripped a small present and pulled it out, unravelling the paper, to find a pair of earrings which were silver and draped down so they were dangly, with little feathers on each of the strings.

"They're gorgeous, thank you!", I thanked Lana who I knew picked them out, because I saw them in her bag last week.

I opened all the presents receiving, a black tight fitted dress which was off the shoulders and had a low back, also with a slight V neck revealing the top of the cleavage. I also got a black leather jacket which was quilted all over, some high waisted shorts, a pair of sunglasses and a curling iron. I also opened three cards, one from Liam, one from Oscar, and the other from James and Lana.

"These presents are incredible I can't thank you enough!", I pulled Oscar in for a tight squeeze.

"There's also a present from my mum and dad in the bottom", Lana squealed.

I hadn't noticed since it just about fit the bottom of the bag, I pulled what felt like a box up and ripped off the wrapping paper to see a shoe box, opening it I screamed. I pulled out a limited edition sparkling black Christian Louboutin shoe in which Lana screamed with me.

"NO FREAKING WAY!!!!!", Lana pulled out the other shoe while we both examined them.

My heart melted as I held the shoe in my hand, "Well I know what I'm wearing tonight!"

"Nobody will be looking nearly as good as you tonight", Liam laughed.

"Especially with these shoes!", Lana exclaimed.

"I'll go get the pancakes ready, everyone go sit round the table", James ordered as he picked up Oscar and put him on his hip.

I put the shoe back in the box, and slowly prised the other one away from Lana doing the same, she whimpered as she lost contact with it before standing up and slumping into the dining room. I stood up and gave Liam a hug.
