I drunkenly sloped up the stairs, Jack trailing behind. Truthfully I wanted to just go to bed without any disturbances.
"You can go now, I'm tired", the words splurged out my mouth.
"There's no chance I'll be letting that happen, you're a mess", he laughed.
"Thanks for being so honest", I opened the door and went to my room.
"Where's the kitchen, I'll get you some water".
"It's fine I'm pretty sure Lana is home, she can sort me out", I grinned.
"I'll find it myself", Jack turned and left the room.
"Why does he care, I wish he'd leave. Tonight's been awkward enough, I must see when he's at the office and then avoid those shifts.", I told myself. I slammed my face into a nearby pillow, letting out muffled screams and hitting the bed. I really had made a mess of tonight.
"Should I leave you to your demons or?" Jack looked at me inquisitively with a glass of water in his hands.
"I think it's best you go, but thanks.", I stood up and retrieved the water from his grasp, nodding as a sign of appreciation.
"Right bye then", He said leaving almost immediately.
"Bye", I called after before hearing the door shut.
Lana entered the room checking I was awake.
"What happened tonight?!"
I found my eyes wandering around the room, trying to search for an answer themselves. They locked back with Lana's eyes. I shrugged before falling into my pillows.
"Miss Spencer Wallace, would you do the ever so kind honours of telling me why you are home at this time and why I have just heard a voice who sounds awfully similar to Mr Jack himself? Hm", Lana grinned at me, prompting an answer.
"I was drunk, still am partially, partied hard, laughed, danced, did shots, passionately kissed my boss, tried escaping through a window, stalked home by 'Mr Jack himself' in my own car, and then got questioned by you", I tried to talk fast so she couldn't pick up what I had said but the wide jaw on her face suggested she heard everything.
I waited for a disapproving speech on how to hold the upper hand and control myself and not to let people walk all over me.
"Yes, Spence, this is it. You're finally getting a life", Lana's open jaw turned upwards into a pleased smile.
"Wait what?!", I shook my head, questioning whether I'd heard right.
"All you do is sit in, and work, and eat, and sleep, recently your turning things round, you never know maybe Jack will promote you to personal assistant so you can be by him at all times", she laughed.
"No, oh no no no, ok your right my life beforehand was a repeated pattern of your intricate list of actions and yes I'm turning, but no. Me and Jack. No. I already want to change shifts to when he's not in, it's frustrating enough knowing he's got a hold over me", I defended myself.
"A hold over you?", Lana raised her eyebrows.
"I mean with work! He could fire me at any point, besides I need sleep so leave", I shoo'ed Lana away with my hands.
"He could also promote you at any point, c'mon Spence gotta think about the positives", she winked before leaving.
I slid off my dress and grabbed a makeup wipe, cleaning away any remaining makeup. Lana was right I have changed, but it's not because of Jack? If she had asked me out places I'd go, it's just every time she has I've just been out of it. Surely it's not Jack? Okay Spencer stop questioning, because I'm now doubting that it wasn't Jack's influence. Oh my god. What is happening.
