Baby Girl and Her Hot Stuff

Chapter 13

Derek's POV:

Here my wife and I are walking into the BAU after just three days of being married. We're supposed to still be in Hawaii on our honeymoon for another week and a half, but we had to cut it short. Apparantely this is a really bad case and all the team members are needed.

Everyone walks into the round table room and Baby Girl begins briefing us.

"This one is going to be a hard one guys. This time we're going to LA. Several teens, ages 13 to 16, have gone missing. These teens were all found in dumpsters around Hollywood. Autoposies showed evidence of torture and the cause of death was a single gunshot to the forehead." she says.

I look around the room and can already tell that this one is going to be hard on all of us. Hotch says "Wheels up in 10 this time." We all get up and go get our bags.
I walk Penelope to her office, kiss her and say "I'll be home soon, Baby Girl. I love you." "I love you too, Hot Stuff," she replies and I walk out to go to the jet. Everyone gets on the jet and gets seated. A few minutes later the jet takes off and the flight is completely silent as we all think about those teens.

We have literally only been here for 5 minutes and I've already gotten a call from Penelope telling me that another teenager has gone missing. This one is a 15 year old female. We all get to work trying to find the unsub.

We've been here for a week, I miss my Baby Girl, and we're not any closer to finding this guy. We're all sitting here taking our lunch break when Penelope calls. She's found a lead and she gives us the address. It turns out that it's one of the teachers at the highschool. If we hurry we can make it in time to save the girl he kidnapped yesterday.

We arrive at the location and his vehicle is outside so we know he's here. Hotch and I go around to the back of the house, JJ and Reid go to opposite sides, And Emily checks the front. I kick in the back door and we go in as Emily and the others go in the front. We check the house and the unsub is no where to be found. So we go down the steps into the basement.

When we get there the teenage girl is tied to a chair. The ubsub hears us approaching, points his gun at the victim, and shouts "Try to arrest me and I'll shoot her."

We have him surrounded. Hotch tries to talk him down, but he won't budge. He then says "She has to die."

He fires the gun and I dive in front of the girl so she doesn't get shot. The bullet goes through my bulletproof vest and hits me in the chest. The last thing I hear is the team screaming my name before every thing goes black.

Penelope's POV:

I'm excited because I know that my sexy husband and the rest of the team are coming home after they get this dirt bag. I'm sitting here playing my RPG online just killing time when the phone rings.

I pick the phone up and answer it. "You've reached the goddess of all knowledge. How may I serve you?" I say. I expect to hear Derek's voice because he's always the one that calls, but Hotch's voice fills my ear instead. This can't be good.

"Garcia, I need you to catch the next flight to LA immediately." Hotch says. "Sir, what's going on?" I ask.

He sounds upset when he says "Penelope, Derek has been shot in the chest. It doesn't look good." "I'll be there soon." I reply and hang up.

I begin to cry uncontrollably as I work some computer magic and book myself on the next flight to LA.
