Hello. Welcome to my new story :) This is just an intro to the story, I mostly write more detailed and more thrilling. Also, the chapters are mostly around 2000+ words long, this one is about 1200+ words.. I apologize. I just wanted to actually publish this story, since it's been forever since I've updated! So, i'll try to post a chapter every week on Saturday, Sunday or maybe Friday, basically the weekends. I hope you'll enjoy it, thanks for reading!
It was a warm and sunny day in Austin, Texas. The sun was shining brightly, its beams causing to form sweat on everybody's forehead. Although it was very hot, the park in the middle of the city was crowded with families with children, senior citizens and teenagers who were enjoying themselves. Some of them were eating icecream that would melt immediately as it left the cold, cool icecream car, some of them were skateboarding or reading a book.
Teresa Lisbon was sitting on one of the benches. She looked at the various people that were passing by while calling with Agent Wylie, the technician of the FBI team.
"So, do you have any idea where the victim's father is?" She asked, wiping away some sweat from her forehead with the sleeve of her jacket. Why was she wearing long, black coloured pants and a brown jacket again? Ugh.
"I can't seem to find him. He disappeared a couple of months ago, told everyone he was going on a business trip to Africa but he never came back. The weird thing is, I did some research and his company never mentioned a business trip to Africa. I'm going to look into his flight tickets again, maybe I'll be able to find something useful there."
A couple of days ago, they got a report of a dead body which was found in the most creepy, eerie place where a body could possibly be found; the forest. The body was from a young girl named Ashley Stevens, 19 years old, she had dark brown hair with blonde highlights, green eyes and the height and weight of an average girl. She had several stab wounds in her back and there were no signs of a fight or struggle between her and the murderer, meaning she was stabbed unexpectedly. Lisbon and Jane interrogated the mother Tera Stevens, who told them she was going to meet up with someone in the forest that evening. She didn't know who though, so Cho, she and Jane were looking into her friends while Wylie and Vega were looking into the family of Ashley, but they still hadn't found anything.
"Thanks Wylie. Let me know."
"I will. How's Jane doing? Tell him I said hi"
Lisbon chuckled. The young agent looked up to the acrimonious mentalist, what he probably shouldn't do. Speaking of Jane, where has he gone to? Lisbon scanned the area to find the head with the blonde curls and blue naughty eyes, but didn't see him.
"Uh. He's not here right now. By the way, do you think the victim's father is the murderer?"
"Maybe. What do you think?"
"I think .."
She couldn't continue as she was startled by Patrick Jane's voice, he was shouting her name. Looking up, she witnessed Jane rapidly running towards her, his face covered with fear. He pointed behind him, and looked over his shoulder. An overweighted man was chasing him with a small hand pocket knife and swinging it in the air like a propellor as if he wanted to take flight. Lisbon stood up and pulled her gun out of her pocket, pointing it at the man. Jane stopped in front of her and forced a quick smile before hiding behind her.The man noticed the gun and stopped running immediately, putting his hands up in the air.
"Sir, put the knife down onto the ground." She obeyed. The man did as he was told and the knife fell down onto the ground, making a loud clinging sound when it touched the white coloured tiles of the fancy park.
"Why were you chasing him sir?" She asked, trying to show a little of sympathy in her voice. Who knew what Jane had said to this man to make him so angry to chase after him with a knife.
"He called me chubby and fat!" Shouted the man angrily, clenching his fists while giving Jane a murderous stare. Lisbon rolled with her eyes and looked from out of the corner of her eyes at Jane who had gotten up after the coast was clear. He placed his hands on her shoulders.
"I didn't call him fat. I called him a corpulent, big boned, curvaceous man who was hiding something awful." Spoke Jane. The man was getting more maddened and wanted to ram his fists into Jane's face. He stepped forward but was stopped by Lisbon swinging with her gun again, gesturing him to calm down.
"I'm sorry for my boyfriend's behavior but.." She didn't finish her sentence, realizing she'd just called Jane her boyfriend in public. Her cheeks turned to a bright colour of red as she heard Jane giggling softly. Giving him a quick stomp in his stomach with her elbow, he stopped laughing, coughed shortly and stared at her with his innocent eyes. It were only five seconds they weren't paying attention to the man who was still standing with his hands pointed to the sky, quickly getting more maddened by the two amateurishly acting agents.
The man noticed they weren't watching him anymore, smirked and ran over to them, tackling Lisbon, his heavy body landed on top of her while she fell down onto her back to the ground. She shouted some 'bad words' and struggled to push the man off of her. Jane backed up and stared at them, absolutely not thinking of helping her.
"Jane do something! He's flattening me!" Shouted Lisbon who tried to get the man off of her to no avail. Jane ran over to a manly cop who was chatting with some good looking, blonde lady, he pointed at the two fighting persons. The cop nodded, ran over to the incident and helped Lisbon right away, pointing his gun at the man while screaming to him to calm down, eventually accomplishing to get the man off of her. The man got up and was forcefully pushed onto the hard ground by the cop. Lisbon stood up, groaning while wiping away some of the grains that were sticked to her crumpled clothes.
"Aww Lisbon. You called me your boyfriend.. That's so cute!" He teased her, poking her playfully against her shoulder. He received a hard, fast slap against his nose, making him flinch.
"Oww. Why would you do that?"
"You know hurting you is my way of showing love" She said stubbornly and a little bit irritated, walking to the cop who was putting some handcuffs around the man's wrists.
He groaned deplorable, touching his nose carefully to check if it wasn't bleeding from the forceful punch against it a couple of seconds ago. It wasn't the first punch he'd ever received against his nose before; several people had already tortured his precious nose out of anger, sadness, or just because they hated him. He didn't blame them at all.
Lisbon gestured him to follow her and the cop to the parking lot, they were going to interrogate the man in the FBI building. He followed his girlfriend with his head hanging down, still touching his nose which was starting to fade to a slightly mix of the colors blue and purple..
"C'mon Jane." Spoke Lisbon, walking in front of him. He responded with a soft groan, making her roll with her eyes.
"Don't be so grumpy."
"As you please.. my angry little princess.."
