5. The Hang Out
I was sitting by the pool, sipping my drink, chatting to Seth.
"They look kind of cute together." Seth said, nodding toward the direction of Allison and Charlie, sitting on a sun bed together, laughing about something.
I nodded only, because I was reluctant to admit it in words. So instead I just said, "He'd better not be using some cheesy pick-up line about how she's as beautiful as the moon right now or whatever."
Seth chuckled. "This is Charlie we're talking about. He probably is."
When I turned to him swiftly he laughed again and said, "Don't worry. He's harmless. And he's sweet. He'll treat her well."
I nodded and turned back to the pair sitting across from us, the pool separating us. "Do you know who else is really harmless and can be really sweet?"
I looked back at him suspiciously.
"Liam."
I scoffed. "In a parallel universe, maybe."
"Give him a chance, Rachel."
"Why should I? He doesn't even seem to want one anyway."
"Come on. He's a really cool guy."
"No, he's not."
"You're only saying that because you've never talked to him."
"Yes, I have! I've talked to him plenty of times!"
"You mean you've fought with him plenty of times. You've never really talked to him."
"He starts all the fights. It's not my fault we don't get along."
"Not all the fights. Sometimes he tries to be nice to you."
I grumbled. Okay, so he was right. Liam did try to be nice to me sometimes, but I just assumed he was up to something and continued being my usual sarcastic self.
Before I could reply our conversation was interrupted by the Lion himself.
"Hey," he said shyly.
And "hey" takes us to number six. The "What the Fuck?"
