7. The Approval
"Look, if this is about me, I approve. I was never in love with him anyway. He was just one of my mindless crushes. Don't feel like you're being a bad best friend if you go out with him."
"This is not about you, Allison! Not everything is about you!" I blew up.
Allison had been droning on and on about this for the whole of lunch, while I had been quietly munching on my sandwich, mentally willing her to stop talking.
"Sorry, Allie." I sighed. "I didn't mean to blow up on you like that. It's just that this Liam thing has me so frustrated. I mean, how dare he?!"
"Look," Allison said after a moment. "I know that you, two, have always hated each other. But maybe this is the right way to go? Maybe you need to put all that stuff behind. And let's be real, no matter what you say you can't deny that there's always been unbelievable chemistry between the two of you."
I huffed, tucking a strand of strawberry blonde hair behind my ear. "Nope." I replied. "I disagree."
... Which brings me to number eight. The Disagreement.
