how to be a heartbreaker

Piper stands to face me.

"What deal did you make?" I hiss.

She places one hand on my wrist and the other on my cheek."I had to do this."

"What did you do?"

"I said that I would go with her as long as nobody would get hurt."

"You are willingly giving yourself to some crack head murder."

"I had too."

"I know, but I can't deal with you right now." I peel her hand off of my face and spot the tattoo i gave her. "Trust no bitch."

I leave her standing in her bunk. I make my way outside and our group stops me in the hall.

"Hey, how'd it go?" Nicky asks.

"Which part? The part where I told her I loved her or what about the part where she became fuck buddies with smith?" I say sarcastically.

"If you want to talk, we're here." Morello says.

"Thanks, i'll think about it." I reply.

I walk outside, then sit on a picnic table.

I know she had to do it, but I don't want to know what Smith will do to Piper. Can we still maintain a relationship? How can I get Piper out of her situation?

I return back to the doorms and spot Alex alone.

"Carlin!" Alex yells for my attention.

"Is something wrong?"

"Yea, you!"

"What did I do?"

"I know you're hiding something."

"Oh, and exactly what am I hiding?" I enter her bunk.

"I don't know what it is, but I know you are fucking lying."

"Good luck trying to figure that out, mate."

"You better hope I don't figure out whatever the fuck you did, and you better hope Piper doesn't find out."

"I don't know what the hell you're talking about." I hissed.

"You might have everyone fooled, but there's something fucked up about you. And why did you just appear out of nowhere just a few months ago, when obviously you've been here a while."

"You don't know anything, Vause." I say then exit her plain bunk.

My head is aching from stress, throbbing in and out. I make my way to Nicky and Laurna in one of the bunks.

".....I'm sorry Nick....I-I just have Vinny, and I can't cheat on him like that." Morello says.

"You actually married him?" Nicky asks.

"This just can't happen." Morello replies as she storms out of the cube crying.

I slowly walk to the opening of the cube.

"Knock knock." I say.

"Oh hey kid." Nicky says.

"Was that-"

"Nah, it's happened before."

"Okay then."

"What do you need?"

"I don't know, I just keep trying to distract myself."

"Ah, A distraction."

"Everything has just been crazy."

"Yea, I know. I've barely had anytime to get busy, if ya know what I mean"

"Yea, i know." I say as I chuckle.

"If you're up for it-"

"No, I'm good, plus I have a Piper."

"I could always ask Poussey for some hooch."

"I'm guessing she's already had most of it, cause of Brooke." I say while i walk to Poussey in her bunk.

Poussey takes sips of her hooch while having a blank expression on her face.

"Can I get in on that?" Nicky asks.

Poussey hands the 2 liter bottle to Nicky. And I sit on the opposite bed. Nicky takes a sip and passes it to me.

"To happiness." I say as I raise the bottle then sip.

"Don't worry, things will work out for us.... Sooner or later." Nicky says.

"You needs this more than us, Poussey." I say handing the bottle to her.

"I've had enough, for now." She replies.

"She'll be fine, she's strong, like you." I say.

"Thanks." She says.

I exit Poussey's bunk and head for my own.

"Thanks Nicky." I say.

"No problem kid, remember my offer!" Nicky says.

"Oh I won't." I say with a smirk.

My plain bunk, is so empty. I grip my radio and turn it on.

"This is how to be a heart breaker, boys they like a little danger. We'll get 'em falling for a stranger, a player singing I l-l-love you."

"No." I switch the stations.

"And I need you boy, you're the only boy in my life. SIKE! I'm the gift that just keeps on giving."

"Not this either." I switch the stations again.

"I can be the fire in your darkest night, I can be your curse or your angle, it's all in how you love me."

"Cool it with the love songs."

"-the poor groom's bride is a WHORE.I chimed in with a haven't you people ever heard of closing the goddamn door-"

"I'm done, I should just talk to Piper." I whisper to myself.

I take out my earbuds and walk to Piper's bunk, she isn't there. I walk outside and she isn't there. Where could she be? I make a guess and head for the bathroom.

Helena waddles herself out of the bathroom, with her ugly smile. I know she did something bad. I walk into the bathroom and it is empty except for a someone in the shower crying.

"Piper?" I ask.

I walk closer and see Piper tightly covering her chest while crying.

"Piper what happened?"

I look closer and see bruises on her wrists and neck.

"Shit Piper."

I guide Piper out of the shower and cover her with a towel that was hanging on the shower stall. I reach in the shower that was still running and switch the water off.

"What did Helena do?"

Piper now shivering and crying in her towel doesnt speak.

"Okay, just relax a little. I'm here, take your time."

I hug Piper and kiss her cheeck to comfort her.

"You should get dressed." I say.

Piper nods and slowly puts on her clothes.
