Chapter 24: "Explanations"

Harry's P.O.V

"I can explain." Chris said. I stared at him with hate in my eyes, and before he could say anything else, I walked to the couch where he was sitting and punched him on the nose. His nose started bleeding, but he didn't punch me back. He didn't even complain!

"What's going on?" A brunette guy that was in the room asked.

"Who are you?" I asked confused.

"He's my roommate," Niall explained. "His name is Zayn."

"Nice to meet you, Zayn." I said smiling.

"Why did you punch him? What's wrong with you?!? He is my guest!" Zayn exclaimed.

"Oh, you mean this as*h*le?" I asked innocently.

"Yes, he is my guest." Zayn said angrily.

"Don't worry, Zayn. I deserve this and more." Chris said. "Does anyone have a tissue? My nose is bleeding."

"Just shut up, Christopher! I suggest you to leave before I call Louis!" I exclaimed.

"I'm not scared of Louis." Chris said.

"Well, you should be. He hates you, as well as the rest of us. What kind of person kidnaps one of his friends?" I said. Chris looked hurt, but that didn't change the fact that he was an as*h*le.

"Harry, I'm sorry. I-"

"Do you really think that's all you have to say in order to be forgiven?" I asked.

"Please let me finish. I know I was a terrible person, but it's because that's the way my parents taught me to be. I grew up in a family where everyone was supposed to kill. I'm not a killer, I'm just a guy who made a lot of mistakes on the past. When X told me to get Rachel, I didn't have the guts to do it. That's why I had to ask my sister, Jennifer to do it." My eyes widened.

"Jennifer was your sister?" I asked surprised.

"Yes, my twin sister."

"That's why you looked familiar since the first day! Everything makes sense now!"

"I think we... should leave. You have a private conversation." Zayn said. Niall nodded and they got out of the apartment.

"Anyhow, as I was saying. I was mad at you because you made my sister enter jail, so I decided I was going to take Rachel to X as my revenge. Little did I know that I would fall in love while trying to fulfill my mission..." He said almost in a whisper. His eyes filled with tears, and I realized he loved Charlie as much as I did, maybe more.

"Is that why you are here?"

"Yes. I wanted to talk to her for a last time, but not only that. I also wanted to warn you that X is trying to find you." Chris said. My eyes widened, and we heard footsteps.

"Could you please be quiet? I'm trying to slee-" Charlie started to say, but as soon as she saw us, her eyes filled with anger. "What the heck are you doing here, Christopher? Please go away before I call the police!" She exclaimed.

"I can explain! Please let me explain, baby." Chris said.

"You don't have anything to explain, just leave already!" She exclaimed angrily. "And don't call me 'baby' ever again!"

"I'm sorry.. I-"

"Just leave, Chris! I hate you! I hate you so much!" She exclaimed.

"Charlie, calm down. You have to hear what he has to say." I said. Charlie stared at me in disbelief, but she finally gave in. She sat next to me in one of the chairs that were by the couch and sighed.
